I don't know how long this has been going on or why but some search results after you are in a store do not produce correct results. In our store we have some " COAX " connectors. We actually have a whole category dedicated to them. If I search for COAX from either my Store page, or from my active listings page in Seller Hub, it only shows 1 item. We have at minimum 35 items with COAX just in the title. I also tried searching my store for " COAX " while logged into my wife's personal account and it produces the same result. This is not good for buyers and worse for sellers! I'm not sure if other words are affected that will require some research but this is not right.....

I noticed a couple weeks ago using a single term that is prominent in my listings was ineffective, similar to your use of "coax"
As soon as you add more descriptive terms to "coax" (such as "coax connectors") the results improve and show 7 results..."coax switch" shows 2 results and "coax splltter" shows 3 results....
It appears that they are 'refining' the search to require more long tail searches.....dunno if that's good or bad
based on your nice titles and specifics, I would say that's good
it is certainly inconvenient as a seller when doing mass editing and looking for every title with 'coax' in it though....

Thank you for your reply. Yeah it's a bad thing, a real bad thing if that's the case. Someone may just want to see all the COAX connectors that we have. A buyer should be able to do that by either taking the time to actually go to that specific store category of ours, or more easily just enter "coax" in the search box and find ALL items with that in our title. Buyers want easy, and as per usual Ebay makes life harder on sellers with things like this. Same thing with having such specific listing categories, they've tried to narrow down some categories so far to be so detailed yet Ebay is not an expert in every area by far and they leave major categories out while also not adding an "other" category at the end for items that don't fit into the specific ones they have chosen. Why there continues to be so many little issues that seemingly would be a simple fix continue to plague this site is beyond me.

Here is another thread about the problem.

I got the same result. If you search “coax” with quotation marks, mire items come up but most buyers are not going to know that.
I went into ‘see other items’ and searched for coax. That brought up all 1900+ of your listings which isn’t helpful either.

It is not a bug, it is a feature.
02-17-2023 03:13 PM
Could you give us an example of one of your "coax" listings that does not show up in a store search?
02-17-2023 03:27 PM
If I need to search my inventory for a specific item the most accurate method is to search eBay and then select nearest first. Listing that don't show up in a store search or under active listings appear.

Did you try the search? I'm curious if you will get different results than I did. When I searched in their store for coax, 1 listing came up. When I searched for "coax" (with quotations) 38 listings came up. One of the 38 that did not show with that search is item 392912828153. Searching for that item number will bring it up but buyers are going to search for coax, not for the item number.

I experience the same thing, even on my sellers listing page.
For example, I search for active items by item title and a specific word, and nothing comes up, when i have multiple items who have the searched for word in their titles. Its insane.
Nothing useful works here anymore. The last week had zero sales and traffic crippled. Haven't had as long a dry stretch like this in a very long time. Thank you wonderful ebay algorithm and search glitches.

Are they even working on this? It has been broken for weeks. This is unacceptable.
02-18-2023 02:14 AM
I as well started noticing this happening around the end of January beginning of February. According to the rep I spoke with they are aware of this, and, have been for some time.
(as of right now 02-18-23 04:11AM CST the word speaker I referenced for an example to the rep below now works in my store with 65 results, but, several other words don't, say like Civic, Prizm, Camaro, E.T.C, some will show 0 results when in fact I have 500+ parts from those listed)

Hi, my name is Lorenz Mae, please allow me a few moments to catch up on your conversation so far.
01:08:51 UTC Lorenz Mae
Hello Shawn, good day! I understand that you are contacting us regarding your item not showing up on your store, is that correct?
01:11:10 UTC manshawnsshop
Yes, these are nothing that are new items. The best way to show you my issue is when I first noticed it(this was days ago). I had a customer looking for a speaker, I wanted to see how many I had left, I headed to my store and searched the word speaker
01:11:22 UTC manshawnsshop
And it was way off, it only showed 3 listings.
01:12:54 UTC manshawnsshop
I even checked my active listings with a search their and it was the same. I headed to the message boards for help and someone suggested using "speaker" (with quotations), and, when i do that it shows 63 listings which is still wrong.
01:13:39 UTC Lorenz Mae
Thank you for reaching out to us about this matter.
01:14:00 UTC Lorenz Mae
Let me check on this for you Shawn.
01:15:15 UTC Lorenz Mae
May I know what category did you use to list the items?
01:16:43 UTC manshawnsshop
They are different categories, some may be an actual speaker, and, some may be a wire or screws related to the speaker but are attached to the interior or door panel.(everything except maybe a couple items is listed in eBay Motors)
01:17:54 UTC Lorenz Mae
Thank you.
01:18:45 UTC Lorenz Mae
Do you happen to have an example listing or item number for the listings that aren't showing up on your store?
01:20:46 UTC manshawnsshop
Go to my store and search the word Speaker (it will show 3 listings) then search my store for the same word but use quotations, "speaker" and it will show 63 listings. Its strange but you will see what I am talking about.
01:22:38 UTC Lorenz Mae
I was able to see that in here Shawn.
01:24:17 UTC Lorenz Mae

Thank you every one who chimed in and poked around my store and their own to check out this issue. These little issues really grow tiresome, especially because they either never get fixed or just take so long to fix. And then 2 more things won't work. Ebay has a market valuation of $26B. You'd think they could fix things faster. This is only the latest thing I have found that doesn't work, or is just totally wrong, etc. I have several other issues as well, usually 2 or 3 at any given time that need addressed. The chat transcript from " manshawnsshop "is interesting because the Ebay rep asks what category was used to list the item in. That shouldn't matter at all ( unless he was ultimately going to reference the Ebay motors issue where people are often unable to check out ).

Just as a follow up, the store function is now even worse. If you are in your store, and you want to go to an item, it used to take you right to it with one click. Then they implemented an "add to cart" or "view all details" screen that pops up first, so now I ( or my buyer) have to make another click to go into the actual item to view it, get details, etc. As of this week, now that function doesn't work at all. It does absolutely nothing when you click "view all details", and if you click on the title, which was another way to view it, it just takes you back to your store. So right now if I want to view my own listing the only way is to search active listings via seller hub (how many more clicks is that process) or as someone mentioned before, just search Ebay itself. Absolutely ridiculous.
