Some items automatically updated with incorrect quantity

Today, I noticed the sale of a numbered item that I thought I had already sold. I went to check history, and indeed it had been sold. I only ever had, listed or sold this one of a kind. So, how did it get sold again? I checked quantities on all of my listings and it appears that for many, where there had been previous sales of the item, those sales had been credited back to item quantity. Mostly, but not exclusively, the problems were with items with variations. I had to cancel the sale in question due to lack of stock and will obviously contest the defect. Has anyone else experienced this recently?

Yes, people are complaining about this, it seems to have started yesterday and is ongoing into today. My inventory is currently devastated by the glitch. I am hopeful eBay will fix this, but I am unsure how to contact them over this holiday weekend. I have heard we were told NOT to edit the listings ourselves, and to allow eBay to fix the error. I have since set my store on vacation mode and hoping for a solution to this soon.

Thanks! Sorry for your trouble. I have fewer than 100 listings and found about 5 that had huge errors. Some for very desirable items that are impossible to fill again. I did update manually to keep from generating too many future cancels (+defects). Is eBay communicating about this issue officially in some forum?

Mine went haywire yesterday.  I started putting them back to where they belong.  I don't have the inventory to fill out if I got orders for the quantity that ebay put me at.

It appears that "possibly'' this is only affecting listings with solds internationally since the EIS opt in?

Based on past experience the last time, don't hold your breath waiting for ebay to "fix' this.

Last time we just got an oops and sellers were left to hang in the wind and had to fix it themselves.

Yes, I can confirm it has something to do with items sold internationally. I confirmed this through my brothers smaller store, and only items that he has sold internationally have been restocked at the original amount sold. So, 1 item sold internationally, that item is now restocked by the glitch to 1 available. 2 items sold? 2 available.

This is an absolutely devastating glitch. If anyone has any tips on how to track down your affected items, I am all ears. I can view this in the "Paid and Shipped" items and find the international sales, but I think this only shows up to 1 year of sales. So if anyone has tips please do help and thank you!!

Yes, this particular item was sold to an international buyer and went to 0 quantity but stayed live. Confirms the hunch that the conversion From EISS to EIS is related! And only items with a past international sale are affected. Worst, if you sold even one variant item interationally, all variants with were changed to be +previous_number_sold for all variants.
