I usually list only Buy it now, with no B.O. and my settings have always been toggled to immediate payment required. A few of my listings seem to be changing to it toggled off (or possibly changed after listing). This is not for when Ebay adds a best offer "in my best interest", just newer listings but not all. Am I missing something? Is there another preference I need to adjust? Thanks

Immediate payment required should be an OPTION.
Best offer should also be an OPTION. There is a well known/much talked about ebay "glitch" that sometimes when you list or re-list it will automatically default to best offer.

Yes, I list from the app for convenience often and it changes to best offer after a week or so. Its annoying, but this is a new issue for me with payment option. No best offer. Just a gtc listing
The apps have multiple issues when used to create/edit listings. You should report this behavior in the appropriate forum for your app. And consider only creating/editing your listings in a browser to avoid these types of issues.

It's been awhile, but I've had a few times where immediate payment didn't work.
I checked my payment policy and immediate payment had been turned off.
I don't know if it's just another glitch or what causes.

IPR is a by listing option. Some can have it and others not. I've used GTC listings for many years and I have never had one single purchase from a listing that I set up as being with IPR fail me. Not a one. Could it be that you didn't have the listing properly set up to be IPR?

If you list or revise using the app, the default settings can change. Best Offer gets turned on and Immediate pay can get turned off. That is one of the reasons i use my computer to list and revise all my listings.

The overSimplified Sell Your Item form that new sellers are defaulted into, seems to make Best Offer standard rather than an option.
The link to the easier Advanced Sell Your Item form is in the top right hand corner of the SSYI. Not easy to spot.
No opinions on Immediate Payment Required. Personally I've never found slow payments a problem in my categories, but my customers are more likely to be readers and to consider their purchases than to be impulsive.
(darn it)

Nothing was changed. Listed 2 things, one was on, one was off .
Checked my other items and few said ipr "no". All from app listings page.
Considering the "problems" reported with the app.....have you checked to see if the "no" could be incorrect ?.......i.e. on a pc it shows yes....... just a thought

I thought ebay had made a change a couple years ago making all BIN listings selling less than $1000. IPR whether we checked it off or not, but recently I had one that didn't pay, so maybe I'm remembering incorrectly or it has changed again.

I`m starting to wonder if ebay has changed it`s position on IPR as a result of the complaints of the cart working intermittently? It wouldn`t explain your listings changing though unless they have made a default setting on the "sell your item" form. Pure speculation on my part.

You are remembering correctly.

They rolled that back a long time ago. I consistently have a purchase every month or two that is not IPR. It surprises me every time.
