So long eBay

CEO MUST READ OR CUSTUMER RETENTION OR EVEN SOMEBODY WHO CARES AT eBay. Today was the final straw 18 years on ebay, I tried for years to talk to a USA rep and only got one in over 200 hundred calls over the last 12 years.  Phillipines is great if I was from there.  Also love the names Ed, Kim, Linda, Lynn. If only the American  name matched the accent or dialect of the USA. I guess eBay still does not get it.  Just started removing auctions as we talk. So sad nobody cares about sellers, or should I say they only care about Target or large box retailers. Just opened my new account with competitor  and already started listing. Used to have over a 1000 listings and now down to 300 and should close my doors by the end of spring. Come and get it while you still can. Thanks to my loyal followers for whatever it may be worth. I used to love ebay and now it just a fart in the wind. I hope they don't try to censure my comments, but we know their true colors. I am here and have had the same phone number for 15 years. would love to here from a USA eBay rep. We know that won't happen. Late, that felt Good.

Re: So long eBay

That is the funniest B*******T I have ever heard. Rag them on social media to get their attention. Why can't I just talk to them on their own site. Lets go to another site so I can talk to somebody in the Phillipines. I guess I just want common sense solutions, not more problems. Given up on eBay, 18 years of abuse is enough.

Re: So long eBay

By the way, my issue cannot be resolved until I talk to a USA Rep.  I asked every single phone call to be transferred and I can never get a USA Rep. LOST IN TRANSLATION on both ends. I can not put in any  simpler words. 12 years and no solution. Set my account to USA Reps only. Simple solution and it never happens.

@garagesalepickers

For what it's worth, the most qualified C/S Reps can be reached beginning with a message on the eBay facebook page.

Quick, intelligible emails come from Reps with the ability and the resources to actually offer service... delivered to your inbox in easy-to-read English. I've only had to reach out once during this whole pandemic and was amazed at the quality of service. Try it... trust me.

Re: So long eBay

Try going to chat. If they are backed up there is a link to have them call you back. Click on that and they usually call you back in the timeframe given, if not within a few minutes.

Can't say I've had this problem. There's no longer a direct email system (been gone for 15+ years) or a direct call number.

@dirk12955

"I don't believe eBay employees monitor these boards.    Ir's pretty much member to member."

In the last month or so I've seen two entire threads deleted and I don't post all that often, maybe one thread per week.

One of those deleted threads was a heated discussion over the 1099-K change.   The other was a guy shipping from Russia complaining about a buyer of a very expensive watch.  I forget what the issue was, maybe a claim for non-receipt.  I pointed out that his picture of the watch had the serial number blanked out on the back and suggested it was perhaps stolen or counterfeit.  I went back the next day to see what he had to say about that and the thread was gone.

@garagesalepickers

"Engineers don't like it when you criticize their work."

I have referred to them as "B students from Fresno State" on a couple of occasions and those posts are still out there.  In fact an eBay rep gave one of those posts a "Like", believe it or not.  Maybe he didn't get that's an insult; maybe he is also frustrated with the constant design and programming flubs and is circulating his resume.  Dunno.  Surely the A students from Stanford go where the pay is better.

Long story short, I suspect moderators respond to user complaints about the content of a particular thread or they have an algorithm picking out key words for examination.  Dunno, but intervention is hit or miss.

No, you don't want a common sense solution; you just rejected the most direct one, which will get you assistance from a USA re p.

I went to Australia in 2005 and my Spam blocker was completely useless.  I must have eaten Spam three or four times during my trip.

"Click on the 'help & contact’ button located at the top and bottom of ebay pages

Now do we have to click on both the top and the bottom buttons at the same time?  I just can't move the pointer fast enough.  😅

They monitor indeed, I got few warnings to my private inbox in the past, some posts were deleted or sent to die in another irrelevant subject community board.

I'm sure the CEO is reading this as I type this....because well this is TOP PRIORITY....

Honestly...200 calls in 12 years? Really? You've been given options to contact other help on Facebook...which you don't want to do...which is fine by me....we've seen sellers like you come through here before. We give out advice but it's not what you want to hear so you reject it.

Fine. Quit. Go to Amazon. Mercari. PoshMark. I've heard the grass is greener on the other side. So is the fees and the tech support. I'm sure you'll be much happier.

Mike

If you go to eBay for Business on Facebook, you will be in contacct with a CSR in the U.S. who will actually help you.

I think it's nonsense, too, to have to do it this way;  but if you actually want your problem solved, this is the way to do it.

If you merely want to despair of the aggravations of daily life in the Electronic Age, that's okay, and you won't even get much disagreement from me, and we can trade more war stories.   But since the beginning of life on Earth, it's been "adapt or die," and that has not changed.

Re: So long eBay

They may speak English, but the Bookface reps are nearly as useless as the outsourced, Third World reps.
