I have to say it is making it much more difficult for me. This morning is a good example, I slept in and did not log in on time to cancel 10 listings so I had 10 listing renew today that I didn't want to be relisted hello this is just day two! So now I will have to set my alarm clock so I can baby sit my eBay listings just so I don't get caught having items relisted that I don't want to get listed.

Okay so far, no difference in sales and not having to relist/sell similar just is one less thing I have to do.

The thing is I think it’s exactly what one of a kind sellers need. With one of s kind items you’re waiting for the right person looking for it to come along. My items aren’t one of a kind but I am very small and most are not available in stores anymore. My clothes depend on a buyer looking for the particular piece of clothing they loved for the most part. That’s what I usually shop for too...a lot of what I buy on eBay is looking for that item I saw in a store when it first released but couldn’t afford, that item I’ve owned several of and keep wanting more, etc. many times if I can’t Afford it it goes on my watch list until I can. Items with gtc stay on my watch list and I don’t lose them. So when I can get that item as long as someone else didn’t buy it it’s right there for me

But you didn't have to do it before, you've had the GTC option.
Now everyone is forced to go that route.
I've been using the GTC option for items that I know will take a long time to sell. I was using the 30 day listing time for promotional listings, and some small, less expensive merchandise. I never have all that many listings that it's a major issue for me - but I definitely feel for someone that has hundreds of listings to keep track of.
One thing the new policy has done, is drawn my attention to how pitiful the views are on Ebay - especially after a listing has been up for awhile. It's like watching listings collect dust. Ebay might want to photoshop some cobwebs over my photos.

I've always done mainly 30 day fixed price. The stuff I sell needs to be listed all the time in case the right buyer happens to come along. Old recipe booklets and cookbooks aren't exactly high demand items, so they need to stay listed. Now I don't have to relist/sell similar.

GTC was the final straw for me, I cancelled my store subscription and donated to charity the bulk of my items. All the anti-seller, money-grabbing policy changes of the last few years just made for too many headaches, stress, and dwindling sales and profit. Since I cancelled my store subscription and stopped selling on ebay, my health and life have improved dramatically. My advice, find another selling outlet.
And, to all the GTC and ebay cheerleaders, well, good for you. I just wonder if you are actually ebay shills promoting how wonderful GTC and all the other policies are for you.

everything always sells eventually. just woke up to a international sale for an item that has been listed for 4 years. I am done tweaking, changing things around and jumping through hoops. when you build up enough inventory it is almost impossible to keep up. My time is too valuable, with the GTC change my chains to this site just grew exponentially with having to babysit and rotate stock. so something has to give. Part of this for me is doing a listing and forgetting about it, the fun selling on here and being able to make a living at it has been lost years ago. The spring and summer are the months where I can supplant my income much more easily selling at local outdoor gigs. CL has been booming for me also right now. I am not sweating it here anymore. next decision is am I going to drop down another store tier as my annual Premium store contract is up at the end of April. I was an Anchor store for 3 years until they doubled the fee. Sad that I feel like I am being forced down and out rather than up and growing!

my sales have took a nosedive drastically since GTC went into affect. and what you stated about forgetting to end 10 listings already on day 2 is the exact reason this scheme was implemented across the board for everyone.

I’m done selling after summer so I’ve not bought items to sell in forever. Some of the stuff that’s just sold had been me relisting it forever. At different times when I thought would work best. Gtc happened accidentally for me. I guess eBay had made it the default choice at some point. I realized the were gtc when I didn’t mean for them to be so I just left it that way. It’s really benefited me getting some of these items moving.

So far it's neutral for me in terms of sales, but a pain in the butt in terms of babysitting BINs / canceling them before they reach the 30 day limit.

New listings must be way down, because I just got the 3rd listing promo this month. GTC is missing the buyers who search newly listed (except for the initial listing). We have to make sure our listings keep showing up there, which means a lot more work, like canceling and "sell similar".
04-19-2019 07:26 AM
UNFORTUNATELY YOU ARE WRONG: I sell more items on the last day of a listing than I do on the first day. "Ending Soonest" appears to have a higher search engine value than "Newly Listed". Now eBay has effectively eliminated both search elements because an item that automatically rolls-over due to GTC doesn't get ranked as either category.

Me.....$73.00 in relisting fees charged yesterday on God til Cancelled because they were all relisted from a 100 free listing promotion. I am mad, hot, angry! I cant afford this. I sell small unique stuff, hard to find, and antiques. Ebay needs me just as I need them, but tgey will drive me away. They seem to forget they were built and owe their success to the unique and rare items small sellers offer.

That's because GTC is designed to help sellers of larger quantities of items, or large sellers, period full stop. You can see the direction eBay is going with all their new sales tools to help automate the process for sellers who process a large amount of sales. That's a good thing, but eBay is sacrificing small sellers - especially collectible dealers - like us in the meantime, when they could create a subset of the platform that caters to niche sellers. They can do both, but they choose to focus on the larger revenue streams only.

It works about the same my 5-10 day listings used to work. But. I've had GTC listings for years, and I have enabled keeping listings when I am OOS. It works great for the small new parts I am selling, although I am virtually never OOS. It does not work so great for one-off item, for three reasons I can instantly think of:
1. I've noticed that my one-off items sell better if you create new listing instead of repopulating old ones. This is the exact opposite of what eBay promised us.
2. I am constantly afraid that I'll make a mistake when editing listings - and I need to edit everything, - photos, description, title, and price.
3. Unsold listings stay in my account and clog it - so every night I have to go and manually end listings.
