So how's GTC working out for the small one of a kind sellers?

I have to say it is making it much more difficult for me. This morning is a good example, I slept in and did not log in on time to cancel 10 listings so I had 10 listing renew today that I didn't want to be relisted hello this is just day two! So now I will have to set my alarm clock so I can baby sit my eBay listings just so I don't get caught having items relisted that I don't want to get listed.

Good luck to ALL the small sellers out there!

So my listings generally were for 5 or 7 days as buy it now because I know the collectors are checking new listings and ending soonest listings daily, obsessively. Now that i don’t have those options anymore, my listings are just getting stale. I tend to shy away from auctions because the my tests show that the prices tend to be lower. I WANT THE SHORTER DURATIONS BACK!

In the meantime, I’ll need to sell them elsewhere.

YES it was my fault but that doesn't change the fact that the GTC feels like a "GOT YA fee" more than a tool to help me sell my items.

By the way exectioner4you - apparently you have one listing to manage of course GTC isn't going to be a problem for you.
Good luck to ALL the small sellers out there!

You are correct I have ( 1 ) item listed . As I am on a selling break. But you are not correct about my last sales !! A couple were auctions and at least ( 6 or 7 ) were BIN !! And I know exactly what I'm talking about . In the past I have sold a 100 yr old 80lb vacuum cleaner,a 60lb vice, and more collectibles than I care to remember. I have sold many, many  different types of items on ebay. And now i have a 99% list to sell rate !!! And the other 1% gets sold !!! So that makes it 100% list to sell rate !! Now who knows what they are talking about and what they are doing ??? I list what I want when I want as I am on my own time schedule. And GTC will not interfere with my selling at all. I'm a small seller here but I could be much larger if I chose to be ! To much work ( LOL ) !!!

Then you truly do not understand what sellers that sell more than one thing are going through. I could list 1 item and sit on it for 6 months until it sells and claim a 100% sell though rate as well.  The GTC has totally taken away impulse buying. They look at something and know they can wait. It will still be there. Example I had a quantity of items that would sell every 4-5 days. On one of those items since GTC started 387 views 12 watchers on one item and 2 sales in a month. That has never happened since I have been selling here. That is just one example.  Try listing 40-50 items and see what happens.

Any buyer who thinks they can wait either is totally ignoring the fact that there are other buyers then just them on the site or the item is priced too high so they aren’t worried anyone else will get it

One month and a couple of days in the all GTC

Actually more than a month for me. As soon as the change was announced I changed all my thirty day fixed over to GTC.

I  Disagree. 90% of My Sales were always On Ending Soonest or Newly Listed. I Did 7 Day Listings. There was NO Guarantee It would be relisted. There was an Urgency to Buy. Generally things sold the 2nd maybe 3rd time around.  My Sales Have PLUMMETED since GTC. I have had a Few Things on Older Listings in GTC for over a Year. Not Many But a Few. TONS of Watchers No Buyers. I maybe sold 1 or 2 of the GTC a Month. I Have a Store I pay Dearly For. THIS IS THE DEMISE of alot of Peoples Sole Income and Ruining alot of Families.  It is Morally and Ethically Wrong For EBAY to Just Decide How OUR Businesses Should be Ran. GTC is The Absolute Worst Thing Ebay Has EVER Done. Anyone Who Believes it is to Increase Sales is Drinking the Koolaid. I See Alot of Complaints over 35 Cent Fees adding up and Hobby Sellers Saying they Don't mind it. All I can Say is IF IT WAS YOUR SOLE INCOME You Would See How Dramatically it Hurts Sellers. In My catagories Google Search is Useless. No One Looks at Google for Some Catagories. They Go to Ebay and Search with Different Keywords for What they Want. Come On Ebay Do Whats Right By your LOYAL SELLERS, And quit going to LA and Dallas to Recruit NEW SELLERS. Try Taking Care of the Ones you Already have BEFORE Trying to Recruit More. Just a Friendly Thought.

When the GTC policy was announced in the early update I knew immediately that it would kill my sales by eliminating the short duration fixed priced listing. I had success with strategic 3/5/7 day fixed price durations with or without best offer. Some called it 'gaming' the search engine, but it seemed to be the only way I could get cassini to put me on the first page, and add the urgency factor.

As I expected my sales here have gone to near zero, so I essentially stopped listing here.  Meanwhile I revisited the other venue that rhymes with Betsy after not using that site for a couple years. It was better on eBay back then, so I never needed Betsy, though I opened an account there and sold a few things. Anyway I listed about 35 items there in the last 30 days. I've had 14 sales, netting only a couple hundred bucks, but still more than here. I have four TRS accounts here with only a few listings on three of them at this time. One is empty. I have been selling here since 1998. All four accounts have hundreds to thousands of positive feedbacks.

Some say the GTC thing can't be judged yet because its only 30 days old, I say that is true. The "you know what" has yet to hit the fan. It's been a good run, but the writing has been on the wall for some time, and this last 'improvement' is just a few more nails in the coffin. It's already sealed tight. I pity the poor folks who will soon be hearing the dirt coming down on top of the pine box. I'm still here and won't be quitting, but for the most part, it's over for me as long at the short durations are gone.

Why should we have to pay attention and remove those listings just before it gets relisted. We are forced to babysit our listings. Can’t they just give sellers a choice to click “NO” on this GTC/automatic relisting service?

I hate it!  I've spent the last 10 minutes trying to find a way to comment to Ebay directly about and this forum is about all I came up with, without actually calling Ebay.  I'm very disgusted.  I can not work becaused of a medical condition, I'm trying to get disability, but in the meantime Ebay is all I have for income.  This really sucks and with the GTC it's just made it so much more difficult for me.  Thanks for listening.

I have four Case XX knives for sale, only one sold in May.I usually sell four a month, why tie my money up and sit back and sell nothing. GTC has killed me and a lot of others that don't use an auction format. E bay I hope you're happy with fewer sales from your tiny and small sellers.

Only time will tell if they reverse this GTC stupid policy
