The current thread about the BBL has already been twisted so many ways by so many people that its hard to follow. I just want to see if ANYONE has gotten a difinitive answer from eBay if the BBL is now being over-ridden when someone complains to them or not?
Personally, I think the value of the BBL is that when a buyer tries to buy from me and gets the message that they can't because of the BBL it has to make them think about what they did for me to ban them. If they don't have to think about it they are not likely to change whatever caused me to add them to the BBL in the first place. If they get the message and want to go to the trouble to create a new buyer character to get around the BBL, so be it, but at least they've gotten the message that I'm unhappy with them. So I personally think the BBL has merit. In essence it is the strongest personal push back we have against a buyer that is abusive to us as a seller without us getting eBay directly involved. I would hope the BBL is left to stand as it is.

No reply from Mr. Burke yet, the OP there has provided no additional information yet.

NO, there is still no proof that any of that actually happened. It could have easily been a mistake by the OP, or the CS rep was telling them what they wanted to hear, or the buyer was lying to the OP. Usually a blue will never come back and give the TRUE story. They usually will only message the OP and let them know what actually happened to cause the confusion.

How else can they keep ebay policy a secret?

Have you tried to contact a blue or representative with your concern? I haven't because it's not as important to me as some here. The OP never came back so we have no news from that end.

There is absolutely no first hand knowledge that what happened to the OP has happened to anyone else. It is more likely that it was a CSR that did something outside of their authority.

I just made a post on the other thread and tagged Brian again in the hopes he will pop in and tell us something that doesn't breach privacy information. There are things he can tell us without doing that.

OP won’t be back. I sent them a message asking them to update and they responded with they will not come back and that the forum was worse than Facebook. (Ya think?)
The personal attacks were not warranted and it drove this person off. But maybe that was the point of the people that did it?
I did did ask her to follow up with the blue so they can stop it from happening again.
The Rats won.

I didn't read that whole thread - and some did raise questions but I don't remember seeing personal attacks. You know how we sometimes don't get the whole story here.

Same with me. It appears to me that some of the questions asked that I did read were misunderstood to be saying that the OP lied about something, when in fact they were just questions. That vary thing happened to me on that thread. I NEVER once said or suggested that the OP wasn't telling the truth as they see it. There should not be a problem in asking questions as long as they are respectfully written. But it appears to me that some saw the questions completely differently than the author may have intended. I can only speak for myself and I do know that to be true on that thread.

How sad. Whatever the OP's reason for putting the buyer on her BBL was her business. If she followed BBL protocol but the CS Rep then removed the buyer, shame on ebay.

Fwiw, there were some responses in that thread claiming the OP was lying (or withholding important facts). I can understand 100% why she'd not want to return for that sort of hazing - who would? Unfortunately, it's a fairly typical occurrence (imo).

HI @tdebuys, @Anonymous responded to the other thread on this topic to confirm that we do not remove buyer's from a seller's block bidder list and offered to look into this further for the OP. You can see his response in comment #66 of the other thread.

Replies are to the people who wrote the quoted passages...
Same with me. It appears to me that some of the questions asked that I did read were misunderstood to be saying that the OP lied about something...
It wasn't you, but that did happen.
The personal attacks were not warranted and it drove this person off. But maybe that was the point of the people that did it?
I suspect this is the case, it happens pretty regularly around here.
bburke@ebay.com responded to the other thread on this topic to confirm that we do not remove buyer's from a seller's block bidder list...
I took Mr. Burke's reply to confirm that is not eBay policy, not that eBay CS did not remove the seller's block and the OP there is lying. Your reply here seems to suggest the OP is lying.
NO, there is still no proof that any of that actually happened. It could have easily been a mistake by the OP...
No, there is zero possibility it was a "mistake" by the OP. Did you read thier post? Either it happened, or they made up an elaborate story that is a complete lie.
Usually a blue will never come back and give the TRUE story.
Which you will then assert means the OP's statements are "disproven" and untrue. Lather. Rinse. Repeat. This would explain why you replied to Mr. Burke demanding the OP (and not Mr. Burke) provide more "FACTS".

This is true. But this sort of thing is how we often learn of eBay policy changes, or learn of new eBay policies that are "unwritten".
It is more likely that it was a CSR that did something outside of their authority.
I suspect you are right. But we need clarification from eBay, not a non-response, because it is also possible we have another new "unwritten policy" here. I do not believe for a second the OP there was lying, but if it did not in fact happen (and Mr. Burke would know this if it was looked into), we need to know that as well.
