So has anyone got an answer to the BBL being over-ridden by eBay ?

The current thread about the BBL has already been twisted so many ways by so many people that its hard to follow.   I just want to see if ANYONE has gotten a difinitive answer from eBay if the BBL is now being  over-ridden when someone complains to them or not?

Personally, I  think the value of the BBL is that when a buyer tries to buy from me and gets the message that they can't  because of the BBL it has to make them think about what they did for me to ban them.  If they don't have to think about it they are not likely to change whatever caused me to add them to the BBL in the first place.  If they get the message and want to go to the trouble to create a new buyer character to get around the BBL, so be it, but at least they've gotten the message that I'm unhappy with them.   So I personally think the BBL has merit.  In essence it is the strongest personal push back we have against a buyer that is abusive to us as a seller without us getting eBay directly involved.  I would hope the BBL is left to stand as it is.

I read that entire other thread on this topic and now I see another thread has been started on this topic. This is just crazy. I don't understand why everyone is in such turmoil about the BBL. If someone wants to Be Back Later, they should be able to say they will Be Back Later. There is nothing wrong with Being Back Later. In fact, it's actually courteous to say that you are going to Be Back Later. So all of you criticizing the BBL, stop it, just stop it.

Same with me.  It appears to me that some of the questions asked that I did read were misunderstood to be saying that the OP lied about something...

It wasn't you, but that did happen.

No it did not happen. No one called the OP a liar.

The personal attacks were not warranted and it drove this person off. But maybe that was the point of the people that did it?

I suspect this is the case, it happens pretty regularly around here.

No one drove the OP off the boards, the OP was asked simple questions but chose not to return to answer them. Maybe they did not like the answers the blue gave them.

bburke@ebay.com responded to the other thread on this topic to confirm that we do not remove buyer's from a seller's block bidder list...

I took Mr. Burke's reply to confirm that is not eBay policy, not that eBay CS did not remove the seller's block and the OP there is lying.  Your reply here seems to suggest the OP is lying.

No one is suggesting the OP is a liar and Mr. Burke never mentioned weather CS removed the block. When an OP doesn't return they possibly got their answer and now does not want to come back. It could have easily been a misunderstanding.

No, there is zero possibility it was a "mistake" by the OP.  Did you read thier post?  Either it happened, or they made up an elaborate story that is a complete lie.

It could have been a legitimate mistake by the OP. It doesn't not mean they where a liar or it was 100% accurate.

Which you will then assert means the OP's statements are "disproven" and untrue.  Lather.  Rinse.  Repeat.   This would explain why you replied to Mr. Burke demanding the OP (and not Mr. Burke) provide more "FACTS".

Which could also mean the many people did not assume what the OP wrote was actually what happened. You are assuming the OP's discription of what happened is Ebay's doing and is 100% factual without queston. Lather, rinse and repeat.

Oh i can see why someone new to the board comes and makes a cry of help post and would give up.

asking for FACTS really slapped them in an unsaid way of saying we don’t believe you.

Does a new poster even know how to send or post that information as was requested? By being helpful maybe we would have learned the facts. The OP has made their feedback private and has no listings.

i am tending to believe them at this point.

This is a joke, right?  The discussion is concerning the Blocked Bidder List...aka  BBL.   And yes, a seller should be able to use the Blocked Bidder List to avoid dealing with the person that scammed them last time.

Telling folks to post facts is just trying to luring them in to getting smacked for board policy violations, posting IDs item numbers and information in emails that would show clearly what transpired are all considered violations and the requesters all know that.....

So are you saying the blue is calling the OP a liar ? The only thing that was asked but not answered was the OP telling everyone what the blue said was the problem.

I agree with you on this Bubble.

Posters have to dance around policy which inhibits their ability to lay out their situation.

They can come back and tell us the story the blue presented without being suspended. You just cannot post the actual message and/or give names.

The blue can do that, and coming from them we'll know for a FACT what they said, instead of having someone say the OP is spreading even more rumours... which is of course why the OP won't come back.
