Slow Sales !!!

   What The Heck is going on? Sales : One week pretty good , the next week practically nothing! I've been selling since 2009. Over 15 thousand items  sold. Top Rated Plus Seller.  I know what I'm doing, Apparently eBay doesn't. They say keep listing until sales break loose, Well I'm at about 500 listings and just sold 3 items over the entire weekend !!  Sales sure as hell Haven't broke yet.

    Yes, I've tried all types of promotions, And Sales and all the other tricks I've learned over the years and it's just throwing hard earned money away.

    Talking to eBay about it is like talking to a dead skunk in the middle of the road. They just don't seem to care. No loyalty at all , even though I've stuck w/ them. Just feel like I have to vent. If anyone from eBay happens to see this, Please do YOUR job.

What is it you think ebay is failing to do?

Ebay can't make buyers look at your listings or buy your items, so I'm not sure what you expect Ebay to do.

Some people are having to make tough decisions, do they take what little money they have left and buy that widget or do they buy medicine, food or gas....

This last week has been terrible.  Some weeks are real good and some not so good.  Hope it turns around soon.

I came here wondering if anyone else had an unusually slow weekend.  Glad to see I'm not the only one.  Something just felt off, like there was something wrong with the algorithm.  Oh well. We'll see how next weekend goes.

What we expect ebay to do... Maybe fix the search engine with all its glitches. Everyday there is another issue. Ebay stop fixing things that are working fine and fix the things that need attention. Also, Maybe stop adding more ridiculous item specifics that have nothing to do with the category. Maybe stop showing other sellers items on my listing? That would be a big help.  Maybe provide customer service people that actually know what they are talking about instead of reading a script. 

I could go on and on but I have to list some items that probably won't sell

Tired of sales dragging the past 3 months.   Ebay keeps requiring more and more and more specifics that are fine tuning the searches but are they also causing the slow sales if someone doesn't put all the specifics in on the buyers end?   Decades on eBay and growing weary.  I need to make a living.

They could do a much better job at getting the listings in front of customers eyes, Without us having to ruin our profits with pay to play!

Go back to a search engine that tells the truth, and dump the "pay-to-play" nonsense, and 80% of the majority of sellers' issues are resolved.

NO ONE SHOULD GET MORE VIEWS SIMPLY FOR ALLOWING THEMSELVES TO BE EXTORTED, but only because of excellent products, pricing, packaging, shipping speed, complaint resolution, etc.  In other words, let's at least revert to being a "community" not a rat race, and to being a platform that can at least be trusted as much as the FBI, CIA, etc.  

That shouldn't be all that hard.

We have to ignore the outlier years of 2020 and 2021 when there was a surge in online buying during the early years of the pandemic.

How does April/May 2023 compare with April/May 2022? April/May 2019?April/May 2018?

Your Sold list shows 37 sales since the beginning of April. I didn't look at value per transaction.

It's not uncommon in retail to have a slow day or even week. Those breaks are a good time to acquire more product, assess slow moving material, and update existing listings.

This too shall pass.

Just a  SWAG on my part but my guess is  lots of  folks were hung up celebrating Mom's Day this weekend and not shopping your stuff.

BTW sales activity did, does and will have peaks  and valleys over  the long haul - get  used to it.

I have not had a sale since April 22.  eBay recently refunded someone for an item they did receive today.  Will I get paid for that item?  If not, my days on eBay may be over.  Why have 4 sales in a month & have 1 of them stolen?   Good luck to all.   🙂

Well, on average we used to sell at least 5 high value items on the weekend pretty consistently. Usually ending up with over a grand in sales for those few days. That does not happen as much lately. We invested another like 3 grand in merchandise and are listing almost every day with new listings. I have sent out offers to buyers over these weekends, I have tweaked the listings with price reduction. AND, now I have a museum of great stuff at really good prices compared to the competition and they watch but not buy as much. Cannot figure it out except people are BROKE.

I do not worry about pay to play, or any other promoted stuff. The people who sell my product have it priced to the high heavens with that stuff and it’s a museum.
