Alarmed at the lack of sales since September? I was. So I tried a few things, and business has picked up.
1- Set up a Store Newsletter. I had forgotten about this, as it was offline for a long time. I just scheduled a monthly newsletter, and sales have picked up.
2- Refresh your listings. In Seller Hub, select all of your listings (the ones without bids anyway). Change nothing, hit refresh.
3- schedule $.99 cent auctions. Just putting a few out there on low-priced items will improve your visibility drastically without paying to promote anything. I schedule them to end around 10 PM EST, which allows both the east and west coasts to bid on them in primetime. Sunday they can end at 9 PM. Sunday and Monday appear to be the best days for auctions. 5 and 7 day duration seems to work the best, no extra charges for duration. Do not offer free ship on these items. Remember these are teaser items to draw visibility, and you may have to accept a loss. But the payoff is in the increased visibility.
4- Promote your listings. It's Pay to Play now, no going back. Your Feedback rating and service metrics have much less to do with Search Optimization (placement on the first page) as the amount you are willing to shell out to eBay for Promoted listings. A real bummer that you have to buy your way to the top, but that's where things are at now...

Guess sales are good for everyone...

I've been:
1. Adding new listings. Not as fast as I'd like, but working on it
2. Sending offers, and responding to offers from buyers....accepting or countering on most.
3. Sent coded coupon to Newsletter subscribers.
4. Using Promoted Listings Standard.
5. Ending and relisting older listings, revising some, not revising all.
6. Posting to Pinterest and Facebook, trying to remember to use Ebay Partner Network code when I do so.
7. I plan on running some sales.
8. Probably will do some auctions, not sure I'm going to do the 99 cent auctions, but might try it.
Some of these are helping, some don't seem to be doing all that much, but it takes time to develop some of this (such as the Social media).
So, basically, I'm just plugging away, and hoping for the best.
