My sales have been thrashed since this advanced promoted listings nonsense. I swear it's like they have sabotaged us in the hopes we will use PLA to try and spur some sales. I wouldn't put it past them to pull something like this, all in the name of making investors happy.

I sell exclusively on ebay and I do see my listings in Google search as well. Whether Mercari actually pays Google not sure. I do not see a lot of merc or posh advertising right now but I see the big TEMU ALL OVER THE PLACE.

Not many are using those high high rates on here. Maybe for a few of their offerings to drive the business to the rest of their offerings. Actually that is a good strategy. Promote like 100 items out of 8 thousand.

Well yes, now we have good paid labor and the poor, the disabled, the people with 8 kids cannot afford it.

Correct. Plenty of retired folks who may be on the streets if they do not get a job. But hey the jobs pay pretty good now if you can still walk.

The PLA advanced is not for the small seller in general. The fees get too high to sustain your business. The larger and very high volume sellers can use it to their advantage.

There are some people who enjoy working. Just because you are a certain age doesn’t mean you should not be employed.  

My husband retired in 1991, and has many careers after his “retirement”
