Shout out to the USPS.

I may be in the minority but i'm a big fan of the USPS.

Considering how many packages they handle,  I think they do a pretty darn good job.

From Hawaii to Maine in a few days for a few bucks. You can't beat that.

I was on the USPS website tonight to schedule a pick up and this banner popped up.

I though i would share it with everyone.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS USPS!

The thing that I notice is that it says 7,304,146,275 mail and packages ACCEPTED since Thanksgiving -

NOT 7,304,146,275 DELIVERED...only accepted.

I will surely be impressed when they are delivered. (On time.)

😁

Shout out to the USPS.

I'm with you. I've been selling mail-order since 1981 and I think they do a great job considering the obstacles.

Now, if they can just get rid of that sleazy DeJoy everything will be perfect.

100% agreed!  I can send a package for roughly the cost of a gallon of gas - pretty cool.

Agree.........I've had no problems with Ebay packages.........delivered in 4 days or less.

lol, of 2 personal packages, one shows acceptance but nothing else after 3 days, one took 10 days to be delivered today about 500 miles away..........

I'm a big fan, too.   One of the finest postal systems in the world.  People who don't think so are people who have never lived outside the U.S.

In person, I get great service at the office, and I get great service from the carriers.

It's extrordinarly rare for a letter or package to go temporarily astray, and I have had only one piece of mail actually lost in 70+ years of using the United States Postal Service.   (And I have reason to think it was on a plane that went down in the 1980s.)

The only thing that keeps it from being even better than it is, is the politicians.  The USPS takes no taxpayer money and is supposed to operate as a business, and yet the politicians won't let it make its own business decisions and the changes it needs to make to run more efficiently and cost effectively as a business.

@inhawaii

I am extremely happy with my USPS service this year and the majority of my sales ship via this service.

In years past at Holiday time, I've had some rather expected delays due to the volume at this time of year. Also had many packages not get scanned at various hubs which is quite stressful and leaves you wondering if shipment is lost, and a few items were indeed lost.

THIS YEAR, it's running like a well oiled machine! Packages are arriving on time for the most part and none have missed scans or have been lost...VERY IMPRESSED. My local post has done a super job and I will be sending them a Thank You card commending their efforts.

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY HOLIDAYS Everyone!

I gotta agree.  I have shipped 10's of thousands of items over the last 15 years via the USPS and can literally count on one hand how many have gone missing or have been damaged.  For the quantity of packages they handle and the reasonable cost, they do a remarkable job.  Pack properly and use the printed label that sites provide and the odds are very much in your favor that the buyer will get the product in the condition sent, and in the time frame promised.

That is better than my experiences with UPS and FedEx.  Both are good but in my experience the USPS does a better, cheaper job.

After last years disaster they have recovered quite well and are doing much better. But, they are still not as reliable as they were pre Dejoy. Many of my shipments are later than the expected delivery date still this year. I still will not ship with them as I send pretty expensive items and my customers expect that my estimates are accurate. I still do not take any chances with them.

I doubt you are in the minority when it comes to people who use USPS regularly.  It is an amazingly efficient institution largely run by great people.  sure, there a a few bad apples here and there.  But compared to who you meet, on average, at a UPS or Fedex shop, there is no comparison.

It is a shame that one political party is intent on privatizing USPS.  The irony is that of course this would have very negative consequences on the very people in many of the more rural states where this nonsense of privatization is condoned.

look like you are employee of USPS and doing  advertisement for USPS a terrible carrier , the number you have mentioned above is half of packages were delivered damaged. every year USPS is increasing rates 3 times and getting money from our taxes.  12x12x12 1 lb cost from NY to CA  around 10$ and 13x12x12 2 lb cost from NY to CA 50$ this is how USPS are deceiving with people. when you call USPS helpline not matter holiday season or not you have to wait for 3 hours to someone answer you. many packages are being stolen too  and who is doing that guess!!!!

Most USPS employees are good people. Like any other business or industry, there are bad apples too. In general, I think USPS does a good job of what they do. Their rates are becoming increasingly expensive though, with less "service" becoming the norm. Since this is a government administered "service", this will never run like it could, because of the red tape and politics involved.

Instead of seeing more rate increases, I'd like to see more dependable and streamlined service. In most cases, packages are delivered fairly timely. But in some cases a package takes a vacation tour around the country. I understand that USPS wants to do away with larger packages, and instead wants to handle smaller stuff. That's fine, but some of their charges for 1" over are pretty ridiculous. How they charge for some things makes little sense.

I'd take USPS over FedEx ANY day of the week and twice on Sunday. The ONLY carriers I use anymore are USPS and UPS. This year USPS seems to have fixed most of the issues, and packages are getting delivered. While the post office is delivering packages mostly on time, FedEx can't find a clue. EVERY single package I have had come in from them, has been delayed by several days. They have even managed to lose packages, and mark packages as delivered that never were. Those packages are probably in a ditch somewhere.....

Cite your source for your extraordinary claim that half of the packages USPS delivered were damaged.

And USPS gets no taxpayer money, and has not since the Postal Reorganization Act of 1970, except for a minor subsidy for the costs involved in mail-in voting by the disabled and by U.S. citizens overseas.

You're perfectly free to dislike the USPS, and you may even have some good reason for doing so, but get your facts straight when you condemn it.

Shout out to the USPS.

The items I have ordered from all over the USA, have arrived on time or have been early. USPS is my go to carrier, next would be UPS.
