Should I block buyer during a return

I accepted a remorse return.

It's been over 2 weeks, and there is no evidence of return shipment.

Can I block this buyer now or should I need to wait until the return is closed out?

Thanks.

You still have that option to allow contact.

Hmm, I had a blocked buyer contact me not too long ago (within the last 3-4 months). Has it changed since then?

It's possible that they reverted back to a sensible policy without us finding out.

It may be time for a "retest"

Re: Should I block buyer during a return

You can block a bidder any time you want.  Many buyers never get around to sending items back.  I do hope you did not already refund?  If not, with luck it might never come back.  You can close the return when it times out too.  Still lost of buyers never to return it.

Re: Should I block buyer during a return

Hi @asset_liquidators . That screenshot does not tell the whole story.

The option to "don't allow blocked buyers to contact me" applies exclusively to buyers blocked by your settings such as number of unpaid items, location, etc.

When it comes to the BBL that setting does not apply and hasn't for more than a year - end of summer 2023 if memory serves.

Click on manage BBL and you'll see this:

The message from you was indeed blocked. It never came through.

Flawed logic on my part as this would not proof positive that eBay is continuing to block even when there has been a recent transaction.

Re: Should I block buyer during a return

Yep, we just ran a test on it and it did indeed block the message. The buyer that contacted me must not have been one that I put on my blocked buyer list but rather one that was blocked due to settings as you mention.

Well Kyle confirmed that was the case over a year ago, then confirmed again this past summer that nothing has changed, and considering how frequently I ping him on this topic, I am positive he would alert me/us if anything changed. 😁

He passed on feedback about this last week which he wouldn't keep doing if changes were made.

Re: Should I block buyer during a return

I wait until the feedback period to kinda end first...for feedback from a buyer can in feedback say : 'Buyer blocked me" and it's a negative feedback.

Unless you can have feedbacks deleted I would wait.

We see it here all the time in posts here.

However, some sellers don't care about feedback...me...I still care...just my personal thoughts.
