I feel like we as Ebay sellers do alot more after the sale than simply hand a bag of takeout food to a customer after spinning around an IPad Screen and letting them know, "It's just gonna ask you a couple questions".
Disappointed that Ebay has not added a tip option during checkout. The food delivery services all let customers tip before purchasing.

@caseypl wrote:Absolutely agree. The way I hear most delivery drivers talk, many don't seem to understand the amount of wear done to their cars, especially at slower city driving speeds and on/off of the engine. I usually hear something like I made $65 over 4 hours and they estimate what they spent in gas, maybe $8, so they call it $57. For example. I've added up all the stuff you can spend on a car over say 250k or so miles and that .65 per mile/close to it figure the IRS uses is pretty accurate
In Canada rideshare drivers generally make $600-800 CAD per week (read $450-600 USD per week). Many of them work 12 hours a day, spend lots of time waiting to pick up a ride because we have lots and lots of them. Food delivery people do a little bit less than that. That includes tips. When their car is being repaired, they aren't being paid. No benefits driving for a rideshare company.

This is a nice reply, thank you for it. Yes, totally agree. It's honestly sad to hear people try to make the argument that 20% tips aren't enoigh anymore due to inflation. I have to wonder if they are ignorant of the fact that it's now 20% of an inflated number and equals out, or take the customers/audience for fools and think we can't do math. And yeah, the delivery drivers never seem to be able to account for the extra maintenance they'll incur plus time and time again when I go in to pickup food I ordered for myself, there is usually a long wait beyond the time promised and the drivers are going through that too.

No.
A 20 % tip for my response is appreciated.💵

If you get takeout and are presented with a tip screen, could you please ask the cashier that very same question?

I think it would turn off buyers. And as a seller, I don't think I deserve more than agreed upon already.

Sellers are suppose to have all their costs rolled into how they price the item. As long as the buyer pays you, you will be paid for your time IF the seller priced their items correctly.
Tips IMHO have no place in the types of transactions we have on Ebay.

The tip concept has gotten out of control. It is a simple issue to solve, just don’t do it…

HI there!!!
You know, after years of selling on here. I would agree with most of the, it is not a good idea opinion.
I put those things into the pricing. When someone goes out of their way to thank me more than just feedback, I normally just say, that is what you pay me for...
However, Last month, I was desperately looking for an anniversary gift for my hubby. I week before the day, he finally figured out something that he would like. I found them and ordered them. (You know who you are).
Both of those sellers made sure I would get the items before our anniversary date. Which I believed would never happen. (I hope) I left great feedback, and if there was a way to go and add a tip, after the completion of the sale, I would defenetly go back and give them both tips.
On the other hand. Unless it is someone I buy items from on a regular basis, I have no clue what kind of service you are going to provide me. Tipping before I get my stuff, to me, is like the businesses that require a tip to shop from them. I believe it does not reflect well.
(I know there is bad spelling in there. My spell checker just quit)
Have a great Mother's day

No more tipflation!
I’m all for tipping, have nothing against it. I worked as a bartender in a nightclub for 10 years and know many service workers rely on tips (our employer never paid us, but that’s another story).
COVID has completely changed tipping culture. It started as a gesture of gratitude towards essential workers for risking their lives during the plague, and it evolved into a subsidy for businesses that refuse to pay a livable wage.
Tip the cashier; tip the forklift driver; tip the produce guy. Tips for the employee healthcare fund! Where does it end?
Tipping is now a meaningless line item that’s forced upon you at checkout. Between inflation and my sales being total 💩lately, there’s not much left to tip everybody! I’m sure our customers are feeling squeezed too.
Sales tax and shipping add a lot of bulk to the cart total, sometimes doubling the price (and that’s something that’s been eating at me lately—selling a $24 item, to see the order total ballooned to $39). I feel bad , heck I’m embarrassed by USPS first class rates, expecting someone to pay $5.75 to ship a tiny thing. I’d be mortified if eBay ever asked my buyers to leave me a tip on top of everything else.

Yes they should. I absolutely agree. There are many situations and reasons a buyer should be at least able to send extra when needed/wanted. Anyone whom disagrees does not know what the seller does or goes through (A good/well appreciated seller) upon packaging and shipping. I also have had situations as a seller to be able to refund and send EXTRA money back. So a 2-Way money transfer button would be much appreciated.

Q: Should Ebay add a tip feature to let buyers tip during checkout?
A: No.
