I've been receiving warnings on my Awatiging Shipping list of orders.
When the order comes in late after midnight, it will already be flagged as being late to ship, at the moment that it comes in.
This must be due to a Same Business Day shipping policy. I have an order cutoff time of 3PM Eastern.
Two nights in a row I've received orders just after midnight and they're already flagged. Some others have been flagged as well the first time that they post.
I am 100% sure that I didn't miss earlier orders. I see them as they flow in on ebay.com and also in email notifictations and I process them each within 10 minutes of receiving them.
For now I'm changing from Same Business Day to 1 Business Day because I feel like the eBay system is handling this incorrectly.
Is this common or do I need to change somethign?

See original post.
And I still don't have an answer to why eBay has been sending false late shipping warnings at the exact time that the order comes in.

Ok, let's see if I have it right. You have your cut off set to 3pm Eastern, which should mean than any order that comes in after 3pm Eastern, should not have to be shipped until the following day, right?
If that's the case, sounds like a programming bug.

I see you posted a different example right after this, but to clarify, I am pretty sure Saturday is never treated as a business day; For those with one day handling, in this example, it should read : ...but an order paid after 3:00 a.m. Eastern time Friday (midnight PT) could be shipped Friday, Saturday (if you choose to do so), or Monday

Thanks for asking.
This started after I switched some listings from 1 business day to Same Business Day.
All my listings are Buy It Now...not Auctions. So Auction closing timing is not a factor.
With Same Business Day turned on for some listings.
Same Business Day Handling Cutoff Time set to : Eastern, 3PM.
Two nights in a row, between 12 AM and 1 AM ET the following happened:
I received a new order that I'd never seen before. I got the email, I got the notification on eBay.com.
When I went to my page of "Awaiting Shipping" orders, the brand new order was there for the first time and next to it in red it said "Overdue Shipping" (or words like that).

Wow, okay so you do not want to listen to anyone because YOU are angry that YOU did not understand that YOUR cutoff time, according to YOUR post is 2am Eastern time.
YOU did NOT SHIP before MIDNIGHT in EITHER time zone and THAT is WHY you got a LATE shipment.
Do you understand now? Do you want to stop whipping responders who are trying to explain to you something you obviously do not understand? You are the one frustrated, we're trying to help and you're fighting us like WE'VE done something wrong by telling you something you don't want to hear.
No. We understand how handling works on eBay and WE are trying to help YOU to understand because YOU ASKED!
I understand your anger too, but unfortunately, the OP did say 3pm Eastern.

No anger here. But you seem unstable.
The cutoff time has always been 3PM Eastern time. That is the middle of the afternoon.
The original post says 3PM ET.
And, no, I don't understand anything you've written. It's nonsense.
Please don't introduce false information to confuse other people and yourself, then get angry, then accuse me of anger.
Just go away.

Apparently the 'new and improved' cut-off time preferences page now has options for entering time zones. Whether that works as intended is another story, I see mine was proliferated to PST since that's where it was before the change.
Yes, under Cut-off time preferences sellers can now choose to set Eastern / Central / Pacific / etc as time zones, also sellers can enter various times for different days, I just thought I'd point this out since I was unaware of this change too.

@plumbingspecials wrote:Change to One-Day shipping. There is NO advantage to offering same-day shipping.
Unfortunately I feel strongly towards educating arrogant confidence but there do in fact exist several advantages to shipping same day.

Yes, that is the page that I used for setting Cutoff Times. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for commenting.
I did try to offer Same Day shipping as a service and benefit to my shoppers/buyers.
I do understand that some people are saying that eBay evaluates Same Day and 1-Day as the same thing with regard to Seller Ratings (Top-Rated Seller status, perhaps?) and in calculating whether a seller's listings are stamped with the Fast & Free logo. (I don't know all the rules and algorithms. I've read a little bit about these from eBay info pages.)
I will note that when I logged onto eBay from a different account to see how my listings looked a few days ago, I was happy to see that they were stamped with "Fast & Free" (something that i could not see when logged in on my main account). My listings are now not showing Fast & Free on them when viewed from another account. I don't know if this is because eBay incorrectly marked me as shipping late on some items, or if it's because I swithched from Same Business Day to 1 Business Day, or if it's because of other factors.
But, sidemouse, if you'd please list the advantages of listing as Same Business Day shipping, I'm all ears. Thanks.
