I've been receiving warnings on my Awatiging Shipping list of orders.
When the order comes in late after midnight, it will already be flagged as being late to ship, at the moment that it comes in.
This must be due to a Same Business Day shipping policy. I have an order cutoff time of 3PM Eastern.
Two nights in a row I've received orders just after midnight and they're already flagged. Some others have been flagged as well the first time that they post.
I am 100% sure that I didn't miss earlier orders. I see them as they flow in on ebay.com and also in email notifictations and I process them each within 10 minutes of receiving them.
For now I'm changing from Same Business Day to 1 Business Day because I feel like the eBay system is handling this incorrectly.
Is this common or do I need to change somethign?

It's not my misunderstanding.
I asked you to just go away. Please go away.

It seems like a simple thing. As oftern happens ebay programmers dont get it right. Switch to 1 day until they fix it or keep seeing the messages. Call and report it if you want. Things like this are not uncommon. Roll with it and keep selling

Is eBay going to fix this bug?

Hi all - Are you receiving Late Shipments on your Seller Performance for these items or are you referring to the new shipping reminders being given in your Sold section? If you could share a screenshot of where you're seeing this message (blocking out buyer information), I'd be happy to investigate further!

@Anonymous in other threads it has been found that changing the cutoff time to the pacific time equivalent (ie 2PM eastern change to 11AM pacific) solves the issue. I can't speak to whether the issue results in late shipments as I'm a left coast resident.

@Anonymous Thanks for asking
Please refer to my original post from Aug 10. I was receiving these warnings on the new Orders page. The OP is not related to the Seller Performance metrics.
I do not have a screenshot. This is why: I surrendered to the bad programming and changed all my Business Policies to 1 Business Day rather than Same Day Shipping. So rather than being able to promise Same Day Shipping to eBay buyers, someting that eBay and buyers would both like, I have retreated to 1 Day to avoid having my orders flagged as late.
That is not a fix. That is a surrender because the new Orders page was telling me that I was already late to ship the moment that the orders arrived.
Short of a screenshot, here's a description. I go to the Sold, Paid, Awaiting Shipment Orders Page:
https://www.ebay.com/sh/ord/?filter=status:AWAITING_SHIPMENT
It's after midnight here in the East. An order arrives on that page. It's an order that has not been there before throughout the day. The order has a big red flag, a warning, on the left, in the Actions Column of the new Orders page. The words are stern. They are from eBay. They tell me the order is already overdue, late, tardy, bad. It's red. Sorry I don't have the screenshot, but that's what it looked like.
It happened a few nights in a row.
Please see my original post and subsequent posts for further details regarding cutoff times. (Please avoid other commenters who introduce erroneous information into this discussion. However, the Commmunity members who basically told me to "give up" and just switch to 1-Day shipping in my Business Policies were right in the "you can't fight city hall" sense. )
This is clearly a bug.
Thanks.

Sellers switching their Business Policies from Same Day to 1st Business Day shipping just to avoid the erroneous eBay warnings (and the threat of being evaluated as a Late Shipper) is the equivalent of taking the chirping low battery out of your smoke alarm and not replacing it just to make it shut up.
But that's what so many of these sellers have reported that they've done. It doesn't help buyers or eBay. Buyers can always go to Prime to be delighted with delivery times.

Hi @stoneledge - Have you possibly tried the steps @dtexley3 suggested above? I know there are different timezones being offered for same-day cutoff but attempting to adjust those to Pacific instead of Eastern may help us locate the issue. If that fixes the problem for you, please let me know and I'll have this escalated.

Thanks @Anonymous I have not tried that workaround yet.
At this moment, I'm not sure I want to subject my account to eBay's wrath ("you bad. you ship late") if the timing trickery in the settings doesn't work.
(I have encountered other eBay glitches where things have been marked late in error for at least a couple of known reasons that I have had to debug myself because using the eBay system, as designed, results in faulty outcomes and false reports, as is the case here as well. )
Because eBay evaluates sellers who use Same Day in the same way it evaluates 1-Day handlers (as far as I know), there is little upside for me, except the ability to claim Same Day on the listings. I can handle that with clear language in item descriptions instead. I doubt I lose many sales for offering 1-Day rather than promising Same Day in the Shipping profiles.
eBay has made me gunshy with this and other glitches.
I will consider it, though. Thanks for following up and replying with the suggestion. I really will consider it.

@Anonymous There's another thread regarding this where the OP did change the TZ to pacific and stopped receiving the warnings. Unfortunately I don't remember which forum it was in. The discussion was mid to late August IIRC.

I have this same problem going on every day. I offer same day shipping with a 3 p.m. EST cutoff. I don't want to change to 1 day handling because then all buyers will see a ship date and estimated date for receiving the item 1 day later than they should. If I am going to ship today, I want customers to know that so they are more likely to order!
I keep receiving orders 1-3 hours after my cutoff time of 3 p.m. EST and they end up showing as late if I ship them the next day. Example: I received an order at 5:25 EST yesterday (more than 2 hours after my cutoff time) and this morning it shows at late. This clearly should show as needing to ship today, not yesterday.
The idea that I should change my cutoff time to reflect Pacific Standard Time to fix this blows my mind. That is a bad fix. If I do that, then I am just rolling back my actual cutoff time by 3 hours. So if a customer here on EST is looking at a listing at 2 p.m. EST it will tell them that the order will not ship until tomorrow when it actually will ship that day.
This is an eBay bug. I have spoken to their support team about it many times and they agree, but just can't tell me when or how they will fix it. Very frustrating.

When you say "receiving orders", are you referring to the timestamp that indicates when the item was purchased, or when you get notification from eBay?
Your listings show the correct "Ships today if paid within xx" info.
What ship date was required for the order you received yesterday afternoon for "25 Ft. of 3/16" (4.75 mm) Copper Nickel Tubing with Stainless Armor and SS Nuts"?
