I have been on ebay for over 20 years. Use to sell a lot on ebay but the last few years it has slowed down some every year. Don't get a lot of views or watchers like I use to. What has happened? To much competition or people just don't like it anymore.

My sense (and it's only that) is that American consumers have reached a saturation point of sorts.
It's fun to shop for stuff online... and then one day the novelty wears off. (Personally, I am not into collecting stuff ... the only things I do buy are things to resell here and I do that sort of shopping at local stores in my area, not online.)
Again, no proof, but I also reckon that the ease of online shopping has contributed to increased credit card debt for many Americans. We know that more than half carry a credit card balance month to month.
As for "the economy"... my own assessment, for what little its worth, is that if your personal finances are bad, then the "economy" is bad. regards

Then the market just ended.
I think 21st century readers just aren't interested in 20th century literature.
Shipping and e-readers also come into it.
This is a good observation - in fact, I just read an article concerning the longevity of books and why do some titles endure, or keep cycling around, but most are forgotten - little, in fact, carries across generations and this has never changed.
