Unless something has changed on Mercari, returns are MUCH more difficult for a buyer there @luckythewinner . My wife used it a few times, UNTIL she got something not as described. She bought one of those stretchy outfits and the leg had a hole right where the kneecap is. She notified the seller, thinking that they must have had a oversite when checking it over before selling it. She had to send pictures of the damage, THREE different times, with it on and off. Mercari CS required it to process the return. It took three days to get it approved. You only get ONE response a day from Mercari CS.
No, I would not say scamming is bad on all ecommerce sites. There was nothing easy or automatic about filing an INAD with Mercari. My wife no longer uses the platform. The seller fought it the whole way and Mercari CS made it VERY difficult to return an item that showed up with holes in it, that were not disclosed in the listing. No idea if the lack of truth in the description was purposeful or not, but the seller was a jerk about the return. My wife was very upset, because she wanted the outfit pretty badly.
