I need help with the process of selling, I don’t really use eBay much but decided to sell an expensive item (jewelry) someone placed a bid but I’m checking that person has no feedback and I was wondering when the auction finishes do I ship my item right away or do I have to wait until that person payment goes through first ? Sorry for these questions but I’m really lost right now and don’t want to screw things up and send something and don’t get anything

Those photos and videos are a waste of time. If it gets down to the place where you are trying to prove what you sent, that evidence makes no difference.

Not a good idea.

Payment 1st, make sure it comes from Ebay, then ship to the address provided. I personally would not sell anything of high value on Ebay or other e-commerce platforms. Too many scammers, very risky. Good luck.

The person who bid on this ring has 0 feedback. Imagine that? Not a good sign. Like your earlier post, why is ebay allowing inexperience sellers to sell these high dollar items? Not to mention the OP doesn't accept returns. I fear the worst.

This item should be sold to a reputable jeweler in your area. Face to face deal at their shop.

I would like to see, if possible, the actual number of transactions like this that transpire and how many are without incident.......all we ever see are the 'bad' sales here.......
it would be interesting

The scammers who make a living online are 24/7.
This one has a "blue light special" pasted all over it. The odds would be overwhelming that the seller gets hit on by a scammer(s).
I don't think the scammers allow many of these fall through the cracks, especially with newbie sellers. It is a fight to see who gets to pick the pocket on this one.
I agree, it would be an interesting metric.

'My vote, for what it's worth, is with lakefor94 about selling it to a local jeweler. Face to face and cash in hand rather than this likely ending up in a tale of woe.
The OP certainly has a stiffer spine than mine for even thinking about selling a 6 grand ring on eBay.

A jeweler may not actually buy it, but sell it on consignment and also authenticate it.

Yes, right on. The seller might need quick cash. Even if they sold it to a jeweler at a severe discount, like 3k, they would be coming out better than selling it online and probably receiving only heartbreak.m
(I have no idea what jewelry might be worth, zero idea....)

Please... Please... Please.... Cancel the item. With all of the experienced scammers online looking for high priced items from low feedback sellers, you have a 100% chance of losing this item and never getting paid for it.
The people posting here are looking out for your best interest. Please listen to them.

You have been given excellent advice
Conidering the risk selling this item online I would be less concerned 9 (personally) losing the 100-150 (fee)bid amount for ending the auction then losing $6,000 + if sale goes wrong
But that's me

I had a nice Rolex I found at an estate sale. My local jeweler actually gave me about what I might have gotten (Net) after selling it online after authenticating it. It was worth cash in hand versus the risks.

Idk why I cant see the ring?

Bottom line, there in NOTHING that will protect you that you can do. Never sell an item you can't afford to lose.
