just like we have the option to prevent buyers from bidding on our item if they have 2 unpaid items within a 12 months period. If ebay had the same option for sellers to prevent any buyers who have returned 2 items in the last 12 months I would be the first one to opt for it.
I don't get many returns but when I do get a return I find it to be much more annoying than a buyer who doesn't pay. I would rather have an item go unpaid rather than have an item that some buyer is returning for no good reason at all. It's not that I like unpaid items either it's just that I find items getting returned for no good reason are one of the most time wasting undertakings involved with selling here.

Wow tons of confusion here. I see folks explaining that such an option does not exist. Yup. True. The OP was saying it would be a nice feature. While I can see problems with that, I think it would be fine for it to be offered.
Lots of folks diss the "no returns" policies. Hey I use that and it works. If the buyer has remorse they can talk to me and perhaps I'd do a return after all (I have sometimes) or find another solution. As far as SNAD complaints, just because I have a no return policy doesn't mean I won't accept a return under those terms. I don't care if I lose money, if I want to make the buyer return the item I certainly can.
I do think a policy that lets you select say, buyers who have returned 4 items in 6 months for automatic blocking would be a nice feature.

The OP's proposed selection is one that you won't find on the page you linked. It doesn't exist.
Agreed. When I sold, I'd take a non-payer over the one who wastes my time and efforts.

Sellers DO have the option to 'block buyers' called the Block Buyers, shown in your seller hub under 'Shortcuts' in the Seller Hub

kus1617, that option is only for buyers you already know about. The option I'm talking about is where you could prevent people who have a history of returning items from bidding on your items or purchasing one of your items BEFORE you know know anything about them. Ebay easily keeps track of everything so an option like what I am proposing is possible although I have no fantasies of ebay ever doing something that which would make life easier for sellers but at the same time might turn off some buyers who always like to take advantage of the system that's slanted in their direction.

If 'only returning customers'- then no, it's not a thing. That wouldn't be a smart 'thing' anyway, as a buyer could buy 100 items a month and return 2 a month because many items sold are sold by thieves and/or 'other types' and buyers have to return.

If they purchased from You then You have a record of who they are. If You don't want them to purchase from You again You can add them to the list.

Good in theory, but unfortunately there are variables.
Are we to block a buyer that has run into 2 numpty sellers in the past 12 months?
Are we to block a buyer that has received 2 damaged items in the past 12 months?

Sellers who offer returns on their purchases should expect returns.
Sellers who only accept returns when forced to by Not As Described or Damaged claims need to recognize why they get other than infrequent returns. Could be their own carelessness, Could be the type of buyer who buys that class of item. There are items I will not sell, they appeal to high maintenance buyers. I do not have the patience to sell to high maintenance buyers. I do not need any form of block, I do not sell the items they buy.
If you offer to take returns, returns are part of doing business. If you do not take returns, you need to recognize you will still take returns and act to minimize them. You and I and every seller are responsible for managing the level of returns we receive. And it all depends on what you choose to sell. Ebay will only make things worse if they follow seller suggestions in this area. They only follow seller suggestions when they are totally wrong.

SELLERS should be able to choose to block (or not) BUYERS that leave negative feedback that exceed certain metrics.
I think SELLERS should be able to preclude any BUYERS that have left more than 2 (or 3 or 4 you choose) Negative Feedbacks in a 6 or 12, 18, 24, 36 month period (SELLER chooses time frame and number) It would be optional of course, SELLERS would select whether they want to use this vetting metric.
As to returns... I had the oddest return over a couple of weeks ago. Buyer purchased a pair of pants, returned them saying they didn't fit but when they returned them I could see the external packaging and the internal packaging I use had not been opened. They left positive feedback a couple of weeks after the return. I wonder if they were just collecting a feedback profile. Of course I am out the cost of initial shipping so I blocked them...

That first part would be pointless, as only sellers can receive negative feedback. Buyer feedback is always positive.
