Did you mean:

Sellers, beware handing packages to USPS carriers.

I have had two packages that were picked up by carriers, and never scanned in. They just vanished. One if Florida, one in California, different sellers with 100% positive ratings, so Im sure they were truthful.

You are the buyer? When they don't arrive by the estimated date, open an item not received case.

I suspect many seller print labels to make it look like they shipped a package.

That way they accept the dispute and refund rather than getting an 'out of stock' defect. And after the dispute is refunded, they request a refund of the label because it was never used and get the shipping cost back.

And if the buyers never give negative feedback for failing to fulfill an order, they keep the 100% feedback rating that you equate with honesty.

I'm not saying that is what happened and I am not saying you should neg them. I'm just offering an alternate explanation that fits the information you provided.

USPS allows only 5 days to void a shipping label … which is sooner than a dispute could be resolved.

How are these sellers getting shipping refunded so late … or are you only making it up?

Re: Sellers, beware handing packages to USPS carriers.

I have dealt with some pretty scummy sellers on Ebay and Amazon. Almost all had 100% FB, and still did after I got my refund.

happened to me once.

sold an item and was too lazy to drive to the post office.

handed it to my mail carrier and it was never seen again.

seems that I have read of some changes in that which have shown that the timeframe is much longer than that....................

Re: Sellers, beware handing packages to USPS carriers.

Too many details missing to really give a response..but know this:

About 10% of items shipped and 'picked up' by the USPS carrier doesn't get 'scanned in' until 2,3,5 days later.

I've had over 25000 packages shipped via USPS, all 25000 were picked up from my porch, and all 25000 have made it to the end destination

Also know that when a seller 'pays for and prints a label, the ebay system shows it as 'shipped' although it really may not get to the Post Office for 1,2,3 days depending on time of day and day of the week it was printed (Saturday printed for a Monday Pickup and not 'scanned in' until Tuesday).
