Re: Seller

You don't need a special account to sell on eBay.

The account you are posting with is one you are already selling with.

You are allowed to have more than one account. I have seven myself, not all active.

You will need a different email to set up each account.

You can use the same Paypal account for all your selling and buying eBay accounts.

High risk?

Electronics is notoriously a high fraud category. Both buyers and sellers.

And you have a negative on this account for an unresolved problem.

So-- yes, you are high risk.

You will have restrictions on the number and value of your listings. If those restrictions were 10 listings /$500 you could list one $500 item or ten $5.00 items every 30 days.

EBay does not consider feedback in measuring seller accounts, but if you also have any Defects, it will take longer for you to have the restrictions listed.

Re: Seller

Whoa!

Are you asking someone with a clean account to seller for you because you have poisoned your own?

Not cool, man.

Check with a bank in your country. Larger national ones would probably have a merchant payment service you could use that would be compatible with Ebay. In a few months Ebay will be processing their own payments through Adyen and a merchant account or Paypal won't be necessary.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

Re: Seller

On further investigation, the OP is in Nigeria, where Paypal will not operate.

@africanarchives

Getting a merchant credit card account would be the only possibility.

Nigeria has an absolutely horrible online reputation, which is too bad since Nigerians are on the whole an intelligent, handsome and entrepreneurial group.

I saw a TV story last night about the most successful immigrant group to the USA-- yep, Nigerians.

The Royal Bank of Canada is one of the world's largest banks and at one time did most of the banking in the British Caribbean. They later expanded to parts of Latin America.  You might try them if there is a branch or subsidiary in your city.

Otherwise I would call on the bank manager of any British bank that does operate in your city. You would need a business plan and then to open a commercial account. Then you may qualify for a merchant credit card account. Barclay's Bank has VISA cards.

Re: Seller

Did anyone notice that the OP thinks consumer electronics and fashion apparrel is not high risk?

Since this is the US community board, I doubt that anyone has any valid recommendations for a person from Nigeria. Best to go to a local bank and work from there.

Re: Seller

Thanks for your concern, unfortunately they don’t operate in my city. You have any other suggestions

Re: Seller

Here's a start.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_banks_in_Nigeria

You need a bank which offers an international card like Visa or MasterCard.

You will probably need a business plan and you will certainly have to open an account with the bank.

The merchant account has fees by the way. Your bank manager will explain those.

A passing thought.

Do you know any shops which accept VISA or MasterCard? Ask the owner or manager how they went about it.

No matter how much goodwill you meet here, it's best to get local information close to home.

Re: Seller

You will not only need a merchant account, you will need a payment gateway since you have to take an online payment method.

Re: Seller

I was able to open a merchant account with a local bank but it can’t be lined either with cybersource gateway or authorize.net gateway. This is my main problem

authorize.net gateway is for US only merchant
