Hello,
I bought an item that is on the rare side, and the seller has multiples but is using the same listing, (without stating so.) I lost the bidding, but the seller sent me a second chance offer. I was not aware that the seller had multiples of the same item and took the second chance offer, at my highest bid offer.
So technically I am not getting the same item that was listed. Another listing just ended and the listing ended at 1/2 of what I paid. I want to be fair to the seller and not leave negative feedback or be difficult, but this whole transaction seems dishonest somehow, I want the item, but what do you all think I should do. I was thinking of some kind of partial refund or something.

Assuming it's the same item.....with no flaws or the same flaws, nothing wrong in what the seller did......in an auction he can only list one item at a time. If he has duplicates, he can offer them to losing bidders.
When you say another listing ended at a lower cost.......well, that's what happens with auctions....I'm sure the seller isn't happy either... but to renig on what you thought was a good price...one you bid yourself...is less than reputable in my opinion. Besides which, if you back out of this one........the next auction may go higher than the first one did...........and you could be paying more in the end......or losing out completely.....
Frankly, I wouldn't give a partial and I would block you from bidding on any items.....there are consequences that sellers can and do use on stuff like this........by accepting that offer, you foreclosed the seller from offering it to another bidder and selling it at that point....

Sellers do not need to tell you how many of an item they own or sell. Second chance offers are just that and it is at your last bid price (it is how it works), You did not have to agree to buy it. You can't corner the seller AFTER The fact. You agreed to everything all on your own. Sellers are not in control of the ending bid price. Some auctions sell for more, some for less. ALL of this information was available for you to look at BEFORE buying. How can you even think the seller is at fault for anything here? Nothing sneaky happened. Asking for a partial refund and hinting that you don't want to leave a negative feedback is NOT being fair. The seller owes you nothing but the item as they described it.

How do you know?
Maybe you got the item in the picture, and the other buyers didn't.
If the picture accurately represents the item that you receive, you have no moral grounds to complain.
It seems to me you are simply jealous that someone else paid less than you.
