Hello everyone. I’m currently very frustrated right now because someone left a negative feedback on my profile and broke my 100% Positive Feedback reputation. I was selling an item for $45, when I received a message from this lowballer buyer asking if I could sell it to him at $27, I agreed so I made the sale and sent it his way. However, it seems that USPS misplaced the package and it’s moving around without being delivered. So this buyer left negative feedback on my profile, which severely damaged my 100% Positive Feedback reputation and now it’s down to 95% after all my hard work. I am so frustrated because the package hasn’t even arrived yet to his house and still he left the negative feedback. This is so unfair, I am so mad and frustrated. I just want to cry and scream . What can I do? This is unfair because the package is still moving.

Seller left negative feedback after USPS misplaced package
I think you mean the buyer left negative feedback, and you suspect that USPS misplaced the package.
To the first part... The buyer's feedback stung you a bit, but your reply to the feedback stung you worse.
To the second part... have you opened a Missing Mail claim or tried to recall your package?

This is what I would do.
Keep up a good rapport with the buyer.
Apologize for the delay and explain the situation.
Track the package daily and keep the buyer updated.
If/when the package arrives, send the buyer a feedback revision request.

Yes, sorry I meant to say “Buyer left negative feedback”. I don’t understand how does ebay let him write a negative feedback when the item hasn’t even arrived yet? If I can’t solve this, I will definitely move all my listings to Amazon. This is freaking bullcrap.

I don’t think that is going to be possible.

Not only is @kelunar-0 's reply to the buyer's feedback emotional, unprofessional and indicative of a poor seller but the negative comment the seller left for the buyer is a feedback violation and makes the seller appear to be kooky.
If the buyer reports you @kelunar-0 the feedback comment you left will be removed and your account will get a ding for the policy violation.

Actually, the reply hurt your ‘reputation’ more.

Hi @kelunar-0
I'm very sorry this happened, but the Reply you left hurt you as much ... if not more ... than the buyer's feedback. Replies to bad feedback are supposed to reassure future buyers that you are perfectly safe to deal with. An unprofessional, defensive Reply does the opposite. [Blaming the buyer for making a low-ball offer ... which you accepted ... makes no sense whatsoever.]
HOW did USPS "make a mistake" on the buyer's ZIP Code? [You were supposed to use the address on the buyer's payment receipt.] IF you can prove the post office changed the address that you put on the label ... you MAY be able to make a case for eBay to remove the neg.
Maybe the buyer will be happy with the item when they receive it ... and forgive the Reply you left ... and be willing to 'revise' the neg. If they agree to the revision ... then you can send them a Feedback Revision Request. DO NOT send the request if they haven't agreed, as you only get 5 of these FRRs per year, and you don't want to waste one.
EDITTED TO ADD: I apologize for being a bit hard on you ... but it is to encourage you to ask for the Community's help before taking any action that could do you more damage than the neg.

BTW, OP, if the item doesn't work, you may have a NAD return request to deal with.
By listing an item as used, it MUST be working. For you to state that it "is sold as-is, as I don’t have the means and ways to test it but I’m pretty sure it works" won't fly in Ebay-land.

Before reading that response, you could have went to ebay at facebook (where the reps live that actually fix things) and state that buyer is responding to a shipment and they would have probably removed.
Not so sure they will now.
Remember- this is business. This is not personal.
Don't 'gut' react with ANY feelings when responding to a feedback and know that when you respond, other buyers will read it.
Would have looked much better had you stated:
"We take care of all of our customers. The shipment is still on its way. Should it not arrive, we will make this buyer whole again"
That- will make any future buyers reading that feedback see that you are a good person to buy from.

Thank you everyone for all the comments and suggestions. It was my mistake to reply all emotional, but guys.... HE LEFT NEGATIVE FEEDBACK WHEN THE PACKAGE HAS NOT EVEN ARRIVED YET. That is unfair. I used to love selling here on ebay. But after they removed PayPal, it all went downhill. I will be shipping the last item I sold but I will remove all my listings and move to Amazon. From what I gather, only the buyers are important here in ebay, not the sellers. I’m also tired of ebay putting a hold on my money even after 2 weeks. I’ll just remove all my listings from here.

What was the estimated delivery date.
If the date has passed, the buyer isn't happy and they can leave negative feedback.
I think the reply you left will hurt more then the buyers comment.

There are no eBay policies that prohibit buyers from leaving negative feedback before an item arrives.
There is, however, an eBay policy that prohibits sellers [read: you] from leaving a negative comment in a positive feedback rating for buyers, but that didn't seem to stop you.
Any misuse of feedback is not allowed. Feedback comments should match the positive or negative rating that was given in both buyer and seller feedback. For example, a negative comment should not be left with a positive rating.
Activity that doesn't follow eBay policy could result in a range of actions including for example: administratively ending or canceling listings, hiding or demoting all listings from search results, lowering seller rating, buying or selling restrictions, and account suspension. All fees paid or payable in relation to listings or accounts on which we take any action will not be refunded or otherwise credited to your account.
Follow-up or reply comments must also match the rating, and can't be used to change a rating.

This will be the last comment I’ll make here. Yes, it was my mistake to respond to him like that. But I worked very hard to keep a 100% positive feedback reputation here. And I’m paying the price now. I’m removing my listings, one by one and I’ll stop selling here. I’m moving to Amazon. So if you guys want to keep throwing punches in the air, go ahead. I’ll leave you talking alone. Thanks for the replies and bye.

Leaving feedback is not tied to the estimated delivery date of a purchase.
