I marked as "watched" $30 item and received $40 "offer" from a seller. He changed the price to $45 and "offered" me $5 off from the new price. I knew I wasn`t losing my mind and went to the revision history-indeed price was revised.
Do you think it is ethical? Obviously, I declined that "offer" and blocked him. Does the seller think buyers are stupid? I can see increasing by a buck or two, but $15 on $30 is just rude.

That is bad if someone doesn`t need to educate oneself.

I educate myself from people who actually show understanding and the ability to critically think. The implication was that the person I'm conversing with here has an inability to comprehend and grasp simple concepts.

@iamonourside wrote:@beautifulbeauty2012 OP, you know nothing, but you are still entitled to an opinion. You are not listening, but you are still entitled to argue.
You need someone to agree with you and join you in condeming the seller. @chapeau-noir is the one person who came close. You should mark that response as the solution.
I join others in observing that your beliefs are not facts. If you are interested in the facts of the matter, write the seller and ask.
Personal aside, I've been trying to remember something exactly... Dad advised to never get to the point that you are relying on an entitlement to get what you need or want, because you'll find that entitlements are actually only ever permissive -- effectively given only when you don't need them. You'll be given what you are entitled to only cooperatvely, when you deserve it because you are also acting "right" - lawfully, respectfully, humbly etc.
OK, I'll break it down:
Seller has watcher
Seller raises the price
Seller then sends watcher offer for a bit off the now raised price.
Watcher goes "huh...is that right or not?"
I say yeah, seller can do what they like, but it's not very good marketing, and I find it amusing.
Seems pretty simple.

Sometimes a watcher prompts the seller to review the price and see what the market currently is, and sometimes that results in a price change.

Bingo. Ding Ding Ding.
That's exactly what I said.

Then after reviewing for a price change (that part makes perfect sense, only I delist and relist when I do it) they send that same watcher a discount.
I guess people here do that kinda thing so they don't see the humour in it. OK.

I typically don't pay attention for the current watcher or what is sent to them because if they didn't buy it at the lower price I highly doubt they will buy it from the higher price.
It's simply adjustment for potential new viewers.

until there is an actual bid the seller can do whatever he wants with his listings

yeah, he missed the sale-great strategy for doing whatever he wants

It has happened to me - no big deal - some times the prices were lowered - been thru the price wars of the late 50s, fuel shortages of the 70s, etc. plus on occasions I have found that the outside street sign prices, do not match the updated pump prices. The same thing happens at Walmart where the shelf price does not match the register price - sometimes by a significant amount.

Oh brother.
Your blocked buyers list has been successfully updated with the information you submitted. Where would you like to go next?"

I suspect that more than a few sellers have seen that message due to this thread.
