If you were on the Chat today there was some good discussion on Seller Hub but one of the big concerns is eBay's ability to quickly revise it to be a more effective tool. There was one comment made in response to a post, " ... The goal of Seller Hub is to centralize functionality in one place rather than have multiple tools with different functionalities in different places. It does not yet have all of the functionality we envision for this tool ... "
While I get that, the current format is spread out that all the functionality has to be searched for, scrolled to, clicked several times to get to. It also sounds like lots of the older Classic formats will eventually be history.
I've been using the Hub for a few weeks now and put a 2nd ID here in it myself. There is some good functionality that I like on the Relisting tool on the Hub compared the older Classic style. There are some good Shortcuts that I like. There is however simply too much wasted space on the Overview page in the various tiles and my concern is that the fix for that will not be forth coming any time soon and not before other older format functionality has been discontinued. And yes, I keep harping on this because it lies at the center of many complaints I have read about the Hub ... the Customization needs to be completed AND allow Sellers to size the tiles and create their own lists PLUS combine the Selling Tools list with the Shortcut list ... full customization will give sellers some ownship as to how they structure it to satisfy and support their business profile as a Seller.
I encourage folks to keep using the Comments link to point out things you like and don't like ...
Below is a pic I prepared from my Overview Page ... what I want to see is the black areas turned into the "functionality" mentioned above ... take a look, there's enough black space for another tile on the first row ...

What struck me about SH discussions on yesterday’s Chat was the cheery statement by one of the blues that multiple How-To-Use-The-Seller-Hub videos would soon be released.
I don’t like the sound of that.
I have been selling on eBay a long time. I understand the selling process and how to manage it for my business. But now eBay is giving [forcing me into] a tool which will require that I watch videos to understand. Argh!

Ebay has failed to explain what Seller Hub is to sellers.
We see that as some equate the Overview Page with the Seller Hub.
The communication of what it is and what it does is the first step. That could be a simple web page or a 1-minute video that just gets everyone onboard with what Seller Hub does and what its key parts are.
To me, the Seller Hub is REALLY the MENU across the top of Seller Hub pages. Overview, Listings, Orders, etc. That's what it is.
One troubling problem is that many links from the Overview Page take sellers to "old ebay" pages and leave them stranded without a path back to the Seller Hub. For sellers, that menu should be UNIVERSAL. It should appear on every single page that has anything to do with selling.
So if we jump over to Messages, we've left Seller Hub and don't have a path back. Site Settings is the same thing.
EBay has a good thing but it's not rolling it out correctly and it's confusing sellers.

And for ALL, when we are discussing the Overview Page of the Seller Hub, we should say we are talking about the Overview Page of the Seller Hub and not equate the term "Seller Hub" with the "Overview Page." The Overview Page is just one feature of the suite of components of the Seller Hub. The terms are not equivalent.
LOL! They should have posted a pic with nomenclature on the various items ... the Tiles as I call them are the fixed size windows that we can show or hide in customizing the Overview Page (OP? that's going to be confusing here!). The Overview Page is the center of the "Hub" like a wheel ...
Where is the big circle for "Where I never go and don't care to see"

Well, @stoneledge has pegged things ... some of us other folks are also coming in with good recommendations. There will be a Webinar and it sounds like Videos. I already know how to use it, its not rocket science. What I want is the ability to put everything I need on one screen so when I go to SH I can see everything I need to see like the My eBay classic page. I have that page Bookmarked anyway, so its a simple click. But the comment from the Chat yesterday that most concerned me was the one about some of the older "fucntionality" (meaning My eBay pages, Classic view, etc) may or may not be tools that move forward with Seller Hub. So to Stone's point, those other pages ARE part of Seller Hub, however, their formats may be switched to the newer layout versions ... one popped up on mine yesterday and it was trying to get me to switch to a screen wasting layout ... I clicked out of it and got the message "Sorry to see you go" ... that's pretty juvenile and insulting to be honest. Anyway, I will be honest, some points on SH I am pretty passionate about. I DO like some of the featuers and functionality that it has. But whenever I use the Comments Link and get the Survey format FB I click the Unliely to recommend box with comment that until they make the sugggested changes I could not and would not recommend it to anyone. I do however state the things I like so it is NOT hate mail to them, just the honest truth. Give me the flexible customization that makes sense and I will recommend it ...

I wondered about those videos as well. I do hope they work better than the videos they provided for the workshops from Ebay Open. No matter what I tried I could never get any of those to work properly so I finally just gave up on trying.

You can always get back to the seller hub overview page by clicking myebay tab at top right area. This always brings me back to my seller hub overview page.

Leave them in unsold or save them off line. Delete on the internet means gone and usually no more access to the deleted items.

Because some of us aren't perfect and have at one time or another accidently hit delete when the all items box was checked.

I like to use the Comments? links on the Orders and Listings pages.
Unfortunately, for the newer version of the Listings page that only one of my eBay accounts has access to, the Comments? link is now a Mailto: hotlink rather than a link to a URL with a comments page.
In EDGE, I can't get the mailto: link to work and i use that eBay account in Edge.
so ebay is missing out on a lot of good feedback. Comments should link to a page, not to an email mailto: link

And I have as well, but the accurance level is so small it is not even a factor.
I just recreate whatever I lost and made a mental note to double check things before I delete. If you are doing this in a higher accurance you need to refocus your concentration levels when operating on eBay

I too use the Comments link regularly on SH ... on a certain page I get the email version but typically get the survey with no ability to attached or imbed a picture. But they have all the pics I prepared for space saving ...
After all the comments I have submitted by email AND survey (which asks for your email in case someone wants to contact you) I have YET to receive an email back ...

As a Selling Manager Pro user, the seller hub is similar enough that it was not a big learning curve for me.
But I agree with Linc ... too much wasted space ... and it needs to be as customizable as SMP or more. Let each seller decide how much real estate the options need and what is important to that particular seller. SMP allowed this ... why not SH?
With the push for mobile optimization, I don't understand what sized screen/monitor the SH screens are aiming for? They ALL have horizontal scroll bars ... even on my 27" HD monitor 😞 😞
What I really dislike is that there is no way to get to Purchase History from the SH ... Sellers buy too (although I only buy office supplies on the store ID)
Plus ... Some of the sort and filter options that SMP has for active ended and sold are either missing or just don't work...Filter by SKU (Custom Label) doesn't work, for example.
And ... seriously ... we need to be able to get to deleted items. I have a bookmark to "My eBay All Selling" that is the ONLY way to find items that have been deleted ... if and when that page finally goes away, what then?
I am one of the early adaptors to seller hub. I went through dozens of changes as we refined and made it better. Not all changes benefited me, but all changes are workable.
So was I ... I've been using it from the beginning and have been sending "Comments" and "tell us what you thinks" from day one. Please don't assume ...
Custom Labels. If you do not know how to do something, ASK, do not put out info that is not true because you could not figure it out. It spreads like wildfire when it was false news from the beginning.
Here is how you filter custom labels
- Go to your active listing page within the seller hub
- check to make sure you have custom labels showing as a header on that page, if not then click on the customize tab (top right area next to the print tab) and select and save the changes so it shows, then you can sort A to Z or backwards, just like the other header options.
Please don't be condescending, it isn't like you ... I know HOW to do it, I did it in SMP ...
IT DOES NOT WORK ... I can SORT ... but not FILTER or SEARCH by Specific SKU. THere is no "custom Label EQUALS"
Custom Label / Contains / 16-12063 (Year-Month-Number of Original Purchase) brings up EVERYTHING beginning with 16 ... I bought a lot of stuff in 16.
A shelf collapsed a few weeks ago ... glassware ... ouch! I needed to quickly delist the broken ones. I had to sort manually and then search down the page for the SKU (everything has an Inventory Label) ... Instead of just being able to say THIS ONE, end. THIS ONE, end.
Pretty much all the pages have customizations and filters to get as exact info as is possible.
Purchase history is not seller feature. It is a buyers feature and it does not belong in the seller hub which is exclusively about selling. Buyers who do not sell should not have to go to a seller hub to find there purchase history. Not all buyers are sellers, in fact eBay has over 170 Million registered users and about 25 Million registered sellers.
Go the other way with this thinking ... Buyers don't need Seller Hub, but Sellers need to see purchases ...Include it in the customizaation of SH ... that's all I'm asking 😞
Deleted items. Please help me understand why sellers need access to deleted items? I am being serious. I am a full time sellers and can not ever recall the need to pull up something I deleted because it was not revelant any longer to my business? If you need this info then do not delete them. Leave them in unsold or save them off line. Delete on the internet means gone and usually no more access to the deleted items.
I rework regular Unsold listings and I end GTCs to redo all the time ... I use Sell Similar on the unsold listing and then DELETE the Unsolds. Occasionally I will have a brainfart and delete something by accident. It can then be retrieved from the Deleted.
If you have never done something by accident, you are not human ...
I am aslo a full time seller ... Really GoodLuck .. what the heck happened to you??? You were never this smug or condescending before.
Good Luck Selling!

1 - No one was assuming anything about you as a seller. I do not have any idea what you sell or if you sell at all. I have no need to check sellers listings.
2 - therer is a custom label option to include in the header for active listings. After you add it you will be able to sort by custom label , but frankly that is probabl;y a much harder and longer task than just going to your active listings and search a few letters of the broken item and it will pull it up or you can also just go to the category for that box of broken items and find them quickly. Unless your custom label codes are all similar (maybe inventory location as your custom label) I do not see how sort custom labels is a good use of your time to find these broken items.
3- Sellers have several ways to see there purchases. I still do not see any reason for sellers to see any info about buyers features in the seller hub. Even if you buy supplies on eBay it still is as easy as pointing to myebay (top right area) and then clicking on or better yet (right clicking) purchase history and then to find your way back to seller hub simply click the myebay tab (top right area). Leraning to use several tabs in the same browser makes operating on eBay very easy.
4 - I have deleted listings by accident but the accurance is so very minor it does not matter. By your own words I can also assume occasionally having a brainfart means it does not happen very often to you either.

When it does happen, it is usually more than one listing ... I do not want to have to go pull 25-50 items and redo the entire listings from scratch including measurements, descriptions and pictures.
Almost every software package on earth has an "Undo" feature. In every OS, you can go into your "Recycle" or "Trash" bin and retrieve deleted things. eBay should be no different.

1 If you go back and reread what I said it was that I was an early adaptor to the SH, and in no way was I calling you or any other seller out an any kind of experienced users. I expressed that I have a lot of experience with the SH for a long time. You are creating an assumption in your mind. Perhaps another brainfart?
2 - Custom labels issue. I think you are mistaken here as well. You never asked about how to do this, your words were complaining about not being able to do this. But you as an early adaptor as you mentioned you would think that if this was something that was going to be needed a lot you would have found the solution or at least asked a question about it in any of the hundreds of threads about the SH. I get it that the extra work to find the items broken would not be an easy one based on your inventory system but that is not a seller hub issue.
3 Purchase history is very easy to get to. Just point to my ebay and right click or click the purchase history tab. It is not a bunch of extra steps and getting back to the seller hub is just as easy. These are changes that happened to the SH over the 2 year beta testing. Nothing difficult here. In the beginning all the tab on the overvoew page opened a new tab in the same browser which I loved and it was very easy to do a lot of things very quickly. That changed for whatever reason, but the work around is basically one extra mouse click.
4 - Again if you have to many brainfarts and have a bad day far to often then better business concentration or off line storage is probably your best bet. I do not see the use id deleted anything on eBay is used very often.
If you need help with SH I am more than happy to look at your problems and find your solution if there is one. I am a high volume seller on eBay so I work within the SH 70 hours a week. I know from use that there are many ways to do about anything you need to do within this tool.
5 - white space seems to be that you want more options on the first viewable area of the overview page. I get that but seller hub has plans to use real time stats for many of the options so that white space you see right now is reserved for use at a later date. The SH is going to change often but what is important right now is
I really only use 5 of the modules
Left to right 1st row - Tasks - Sales - Orders
2nd row Shortcuts - Selling tools
Shortcuts you can highly customize by putting in your own tabs and rearrange the tabs in that box. This sounds like a solution for you with your purchase history tab. Just add it to your shortcuts box and it will be available inside the seller hub as you are requesting and move it up on the first row if you want as well.
Good Luck Selling!
