Seller Hub - timing for solutions

If you were on the Chat today there was some good discussion on Seller Hub but one of the big concerns is eBay's ability to quickly revise it to be a more effective tool.  There was one comment made in response to a post, " ... The goal of Seller Hub is to centralize functionality in one place rather than have multiple tools with different functionalities in different places.  It does not yet have all of the functionality we envision for this tool ... "

While I get that, the current format is spread out that all the functionality has to be searched for, scrolled to, clicked several times to get to.  It also sounds like lots of the older Classic formats will eventually be history.

I've been using the Hub for a few weeks now and put a 2nd ID here in it myself.  There is some good functionality that I like on the Relisting tool on the Hub compared the older Classic style.  There are some good Shortcuts that I like.  There is however simply too much wasted space on the Overview page in the various tiles and my concern is that the fix for that will not be forth coming any time soon and not before other older format functionality has been discontinued.  And yes, I keep harping on this because it lies at the center of many complaints I have read about the Hub ... the Customization needs to be completed AND allow Sellers to size the tiles and create their own lists PLUS combine the Selling Tools list with the Shortcut list ... full customization will give sellers some ownship as to how they structure it to satisfy and support their business profile as a Seller.

I encourage folks to keep using the Comments link to point out things you like and don't like ...

Below is a pic I prepared from my Overview Page ... what I want to see is the black areas turned into the "functionality" mentioned above ... take a look, there's enough black space for another tile on the first row ...

The difference @penguins_dont_fly and I are seeing are not item listing pages.  It is just the active listing page thats shows all your active listings.  I think they have at least two different versions of seller hub going right now and perhaps are conducting A /B testing?

Who knows for sure?

I didn't mention Item Listings pages (where you create listings and revise/edit them).  I might prefer to call them the Create and/or Edit/Revise Listings Pages.

The Listings Page is one of the core elements of the Seller Hub.

And there at least two versions of it.  Maybe more.

The names of the two very different things are too similar for comfort.

I will also note, now that I think of it, that the Old Version of the Listings Page in Seller Hub uses the term "REVISE" in the Actions column menu pulldowns on the left and "EDIT" in the top set of buttons above and below the listed Listings,  while the new version of the Listings Page has discarded the term "Revise" and uses the term "Edit" for everything.

The LISTINGS Page is a core component of Seller Hub (default view is all Active Listings).   To get to the Listings Page, click the menu bar item called Listings on any Seller Hub page.

In the account that uses the old version of the Listings Page, this is the link:

http://k2b-bulk.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ListingConsole&currentPage=LCActive

In the account that uses the new version of the Listings Page, this is the link:

https://www.ebay.com/sh/lst/active

Just tested this: If your eBay account still uses the Old version of the Listings Page in Seller Hub (for example, if you see "Revise" in the Actions column on the left, you can switch over to the New version (which I prefer) by clicking the shorter link above.   Give it a shot.

To clarify, it's not the "active listings page" on Seller Hub.

It's the Listings Page on Seller Hub.   Active Listings is the default view of the Listings Page on Seller Hub.  There are other views available,  Unsold, Scheduled, Ended, etc. and they are available from pulldowns on the Listings Menu on the Seller Hub Menu Bar across the top of every page on Seller Hub.  Other views are available from links on the Listings Tile on the Overview Page of Seller Hub.

Also to clarify, there are at least two different version of the Listings Page on Seller Hub.  There are also at least two different version of the Orders Page on Seller Hub. (If on your Orders Page you can see a link at the top right "Switch back to the old version of this page" then you are on the New version. If you don't see that link you are on the Old Version of the Orders Page of Seller Hub.

So when you wrote "I think they have at least two different versions of seller hub going right now" what you really meant is what I wrote above.    It's not "two versions of Seller Hub."   Rather it's at least two versions of the two main working pages of Seller Hub:  Listings and Orders (also known as Manage Orders, in eBay vernacular).

And all of that means that there are at least 4 versions live right now because each user could have Old or New versions of the Listings and/or Orders pages.

And now that I have clicked on the shorter URL  to enable the New Version of the Listings Page on Seller Hub on my eBay account that had been using the Old Version of the Listings Page on Seller Hub, I can  now see the "EDIT TOGGLE BUTTON" at top right.

Clicking this Button allows you to edit the Custom Label field on the Listings Page (I'm currently looking at the default Active Listings View) .

It would be cool if it would allow you to edit other fields right on the Listings Page.  Thus far it does not do that...but maybe that's in our future?

Seller Hub - timing for solutions

@stoneledge

Hello,

I am using, and trying to like, the seller hub programme…

I read the back and forth between you and @penguins_dont_fly , only to discover you had different versions of the (same?) programme (?)

So, back to @mr_lincoln original post and…“…“The goal of seller hub is to centralize functionality in one place rather than have multiple tools with different functionalities”

For listing, I can tell you for a fact I use windows vista and chrome or firefox browsers, but have no idea the Hub “version” I am dealing with.

Sorry… call me stupid… but how is anyone supposed to get help if we are not looking at the same page?

It's the "eBay way" - divide and conquer

"If a product doesn't sell, raise the price" - Reese Palley
"If it sold FAST, it was priced too low" - also Reese Palley

To me it seems like the "ebay way" is to confuse.

It's hard to help each other when users are looking at different versions of the Listings and Orders pages of Seller Hub .

It's also hard to help each other if we don't use the same specific names for pages and features.

It's hard.

If you read my prior posts carefully, you can easily figure out whether you have the new or old versions of both the Orders and Listings pages of Seller Hub.

@stoneledge

I have, and I did ...I am in the "new version"

But again, back to Mr Lincolns' post ebay needs to  create a lexicon or some sort of standard, for the one and only hub programme.

As it stands at this moment, If I had questions re: use of hub for you, it would take many posts to figure out which version, which appropriate tab to click before I was answered.

Ebay allegedly wants to streamline the hub to be all things to all people ....but they have shoved in numerous different pages.

I suppose different if you are a store.

I suppose different if you are a mega store

I suppose different if you are an independant seller

Yes we need a standard lexicon for the Seller Hub.

See my first comments about mistakenly referring to the Overview Page as the Seller Hub.   It is the Overview Page...it's not the Seller Hub itself.

I would also not call the Seller Hub a "programme" or program.

What ebay has not done is introduce everyone to what the Seller Hub is.    I have concluded that the Seller Hub is the common menu across every page of the Seller Hub:  Overview, Orders, Listings, and the other 3.

And when you say you have the New version, you should say "I have the New versions of both the Listings and Orders pages".   There is no single "new version."  There are New and Old versions of both the Orders and Listings pages of the Seller Hub, which means there are at least 4 versions of the Seller Hub in circulation right now.   99.9% of Sellers don't know this.

How simple would it be for ebay to launch ebay Lite for sellers who gross under $50,000...or even $10,000?
NO muss...NO fuss...NO changes.
List...sell...ship....All from ONE page.
