Mentioned in my post of Seller Check In Highlights from about 6 weeks ago:
Chuck [Van Pelt] shared sneak preview screenshots of upcoming changes to the Seller Hub Orders page and Active Listings page surrounding search/filter navigation on Active listings, features to more easily access repeat buyer history on Orders, and more. I strongly encourage everybody to watch their networking session.
Here's that video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZeU_ynzUAY
I heard from a seller that has the new view today, at least for Active listings. I forgot to ask him about the Orders page. (In the video I loved what eBay did with repeat buyers on the Orders page.)
With my buddy's permission I'm posting screenshots from his new Active Listings view compared to the old view which most of us are still seeing. Green line is the divider. Top = current soon to be old view | Bottom = new view
Disclaimer: These images are from different computers and browsers, probably with different zoom settings, so don't assume that because the bottom one looks so tiny compared to the top that it actually is. I'm showing the comparison so you can see the changes in function and how everything is in a slightly different place under a more compact view with new filter buttons.

Perfectly said and spot on. It has to be the younger folks who foolishly think more is better. It would never be those of us who are aged and have common sense. They should follow a simple rule, KISS, keep it simple stupid!!

If eBay paid me $1 per click for all the time I've wasted with this poorly thought out function change I might not be as angry.
Seriously, six freaking clicks to apply one single category filter. My brain can't even comprehend what makes someone think that's a good idea, let alone have the audacity to call it "more efficient" on the pop up when it takes more time and pulls your view to an entirely different section of the screen. Everything about it is less efficient.
This is the kind of crap that leads me to spend more time on my Amazon listings than eBay.
Hey - "you spoke we listened" (just not very well)

Feel the same way. I thought maybe it was something I did to screw up my view but now I see it's eBay. How are we going to get them to put it back the way it was. Everything I needed to see was right there!!!

Constantly sifting through changes and page layouts - with absolutely no consistency- its just laughable. (if it wasn't effecting my livelihood.......even the listing tool is still work- the main attributes are in a different and seemingly random order for every other category or subcategory. mfg part # is sometime at the top/ then next time its 5 down from the top etc- ebay keeps us constantly searching so we cant get in a comfort zone and just work- we are constantly "learning" and wasting time )
Don't get me started on the current listing form @siamjane8 . All I'll say about that right now is: PUT THE FREAKING VARIATIONS BACK ABOVE ITEM SPECIFICS WHERE THEY NEED TO BE!
As for the constant changes, I think the biggest problem is eBay is trying to "unify" the mobile and desktop experience. The problem is, you can't run business functionality with limited app and mobile formats - not efficiently, anyway.
I use both the app and the website for different purposes. I use the website to run my business because I do not want the clunky, inefficient, limited function app experience.
That goes for any venue, not just eBay.
These stupid side panel filters? One of the websites where I do a huge amount of shopping switched to that functionality on their website. I checked - since they made that change I've spent 50% as much as previous years shopping with them because it takes too long to apply filters and search for stuff.
Just wait - eBay will eventually put that cumbersome and time-consuming side panel filtering onto website general search. 😖
Amazon (so far) has been smart in keeping a fairly consistent web experience for both shopping and selling.

@Agreed. I always use Amazon as an example because we went through so many years of eBay copying and trying to mimic Amazon.... Mostly to the detriment of ebay because they were copying the features that work for Amazon selling new consumables.... Not vintage and unique items. Of course the one thing they can't get through their head to copy is Amazon's rock solid platform and as you mentioned very little changes. Subtle improvements not breakneck 180 turns like ebay does every 5 weeks or so.

Changes to the seller hub have completely removed
the quick filters section from my mothers seller hub!
Do you have to have a store now to get a quick filters
section?

@sewbusybiz @wastingtime101 I think the only way to get them back is to keep screaming here on the forums. Design team needs to understand the actual needs and wants of the sellers that use the hub- and stop tinkering with silly changes that hide all the information. These side panels and popups and hidden menus are a completely ridiculous and arduous waste of our time.
JUST THINK FOR A MINUTE- the title of the section that they removed was QUICK FILTERS!!!!!! so someone thought it was a good idea to basically make it "slow filters" Lol... but not only slow filters, but annoying frustratingly painstakingly slow to use filters.
I literally used the quick filters 10x a day. One click to filter what i wanted to see instead of 6x the clicks with the new design
I watched that video that someone earlier posted a link to and i can appreciate the desire to add a repeat buyers information section and even to allow us to apply more than one filter at a time- that all sounds good until you gut the actual functioning features that we all use.
Also mentioned was getting the page simplified (by removing all its function and putting it in hidden side meus) so we could see a few more of the active listings on the first page view......... this is completely unimportant!- if we are on a computer- we are using a mouse and most have scroll wheels on them - we can scroll down to see the active listings instantly and without any conscious effort!!!- what we cant do now is quickly access our filters.

My mother is 84 and used the quick filter secton to send offers.
Daily. Now they also changed the format of send offers!
I had to go over and show her how to use it!
They really do not think of the consequences of the
changes before they implement them.
Extremely frustrating for senior sellers.

HEY EBAY, IS ANY BODY LISTING?? THIS IS TOTAL STUPIDITY!! PUT IT BACK THE WAY IT WAS. IT WORKED, NO NEED TO CHANGE IT. Maybe yelling might get somebody with common sense to do it right for once?

"USER"- The quick filters were amazing- great simple idea that was fast and efficient and self explanatory, and obvious and useful and practical. No need to learn or figure out. No need to search though layers of side screen filters to access a simple task.
"Ebay"- I have a great idea- lets change all of that so it looks cleaner on the screen! even though its not practical or functional
08-26-2024 05:52 AM
Hello? Ebay, are you listening? This redesign sucks! Please fix this!
08-28-2024 02:47 AM
Another change! UGH! I could go in my ebay store,
find a listing I wanted to copy, open it, click
on the title, and the listing would open for me
to sell similiar.
Now when I click on the listing when I am in my store,
it does not open! Now I have to look through 2000
listings in hub just to find the one I want!
You would think they would show seller hub listings in
the store categories so you coud find things easily.
I wish they would think of ways to save a sellers time,
so we could be listing more or resting.
so

frustrating!

@sewbusybiz I was curious what you were referring to so i went to my store to check and i see now.... they just added a scaled back poppup of the listing- there is not advantage to this that i can see- loks like the only real option at this point is to purchase now or see more details so all they did was make it easier for people to buy it without looking at the pictures or description- sounds like returns and chargebacks lol
The only good that i can see for you is that this change only adds (1) extra click for you to access the sell similar option. Lately most of their design changes results in 5= clicks to access simple info
08-28-2024 07:34 AM
@sewbusybiz @siamjane8 it sounds like you are talking about the quick view pop up?
If so, it's been like that in Stores since early 2023 with some occasional small tweaks to the design (previously there was a button but then they made it the default when clicking on any item in the Store view)
You should still be able to get to your full listing by clicking See All Details
