Mentioned in my post of Seller Check In Highlights from about 6 weeks ago:
Chuck [Van Pelt] shared sneak preview screenshots of upcoming changes to the Seller Hub Orders page and Active Listings page surrounding search/filter navigation on Active listings, features to more easily access repeat buyer history on Orders, and more. I strongly encourage everybody to watch their networking session.
Here's that video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZeU_ynzUAY
I heard from a seller that has the new view today, at least for Active listings. I forgot to ask him about the Orders page. (In the video I loved what eBay did with repeat buyers on the Orders page.)
With my buddy's permission I'm posting screenshots from his new Active Listings view compared to the old view which most of us are still seeing. Green line is the divider. Top = current soon to be old view | Bottom = new view
Disclaimer: These images are from different computers and browsers, probably with different zoom settings, so don't assume that because the bottom one looks so tiny compared to the top that it actually is. I'm showing the comparison so you can see the changes in function and how everything is in a slightly different place under a more compact view with new filter buttons.

It is one extra click here, 5 there...
"Buyers now have the option to request an order cancellation using the
Cancel order button before the item is marked as shipped."
It now states in my 'new' messages!
This is the worst change, we get returns and chargebacks
not making the descriptions a priority,
now I can measure and cut trim orders at night,
only to have customers cancel before I mail in the morning.
Leaving me stuck with all the pieces I just cut from the rolls?!
This is really getting bad to do business here.
I feel like I am in the twilight zone this whole month of August!

@wastingtime101 wrote:The biggest issue with this change is the category filter. I rely on category filter heavily. You're accurate @siamjane8 in comparing this to the Unified Lister launch.
Let's say I want to check off 6 subcategories.
Old format:
- Click the category drop down
- toggle store categories
- expand all
- check boxes next to the 6 I want
- click the search button
New format:
- Click the all filters button
- select categories on side panel
- select store categories
- select category
- check subcategory
- exit to previous screen
- select another category
- check subcategory
- exit to previous screen
- select category
- check subcategory
- exit to previous screen
- select category
- check subcategory
- exit to previous screen
- select category
- check subcategory
- exit to previous screen
- select category
- check subcategory
- exit to previous screen
- apply filter with blue button at bottom
I also don't care about a shortcut button for "listing with watchers" but I would appreciate if categories had a button with a drop down like it used to. If a category button that did not open up a side panel was reinstated, this change would be livable. There is room to add a categories button. The key is it needs to open a drop down, not a freaking nested side panel with 22 clicks just to select a handful of subcategories.
devon@ebay - I'm also spotting tech issues with the new format.
1. I applied a business category filter. Then I cleared the filter. Now every time I expand the all categories side panel it shows that filter is applied. I click clear. It disappears. I expand the panel again. The filter shows applied again. I click clear. It disappears. Repeat on loop.
2. Page load is v-e-r-y s-l-o-w. Any time I apply filters or clear filters it takes ages for the filters to apply and page to load. This was not the case with the old format where everything loaded quickly.
(For reference, I ran an internet speed test and was rated "very fast" at 349.2 Mbps download speed with a latency of only 6 ms. Page load issue is coming from eBay's end.)
3. Loading active listing page, a long list of buttons appears while the page is loading, then it takes a while - on average 12 seconds - for the page to finish loading and the buttons to disappear down to the condensed view. See screenshots.
FYI devon@ebay : Tech issues 2 & 3 persist.
In addition, when you enter a search term you'll get results - but when you apply a filter, suddenly the search term, which is still entered in the search box, no longer applies.
Say I search for "Widget A" and pull up results. Then I apply a filter, say a free shipping biz policy - because I only want to see items matching Widget A search term with free shipping - unfortunately, the results show me every listing tied to the free ship policy and ignore my Widget A search results - even though the search term Widget A still displays in the search box.
So you have to apply filters before entering search terms? You can't run a search, and then narrow down results by filters?
I also need to re-emphasize, to apply a filter of ONE subcategory, it requires SIX clicks to apply the filter.
To apply a filter of SIX subcategories, it requires TWENTY TWO clicks to apply the filter.
It's so inefficient I can't stand it. I had to create an entirely new bookmarks folder for various search filters just so I don't have to keep wasting so much time applying filters. Even then it does not cover my needs - plus adds clutter to my browser bookmarks.
So fed up with this. Takes so much longer to manage my listings. I've been posting a lot of my new Fall/Holiday inventory over on Amazon - inventory I'd typically list on both venues.

We have all been complaining about the upcoming change for over a month now and more so since it came out over a week ago. Does eBay management ever look at these posts? Is there no way to contact eBay management and say that we have a problem with this change and ask them to consider reverting it back? There's got to be away to get their attention.

I have the same problem on my laptop, but not my desktop. The reason being is the screen size. The list shrinks to fit the browser window so there is no scroll bar. You have to click on All Filters to see the ones that are missing from the list.

Oh, I see. When I zoom out my view so the text is microscopic, all the buttons appear.
So eBay sticks us with "listings with watchers" in prime spot - a button I will never, ever click on and Categories is stuck under all filters?
The buttons I'll use the most are Categories, Status and Biz Policies. Fortunately Status has priority within the shrunken menu. Categories not getting a prime spot is a really, really poor design decision.
The page load function of an expanded menu that shrinks down and takes forever to load is a programming issue. System should be able to remember how it displayed last time page was refreshed.
If eBay's going with that, we should have the option of a customizable menu and pick which buttons we want "sticky" to our account's view.
On top of that, my view has room for another button, but eBay isn't including it.

Okay, as a new "active" seller, all of the above (and below) is horrifying! AND Thank You to each and everyone of you for taking the time to post this information! Been an eBayer since 2005; mostly buying, but at the moment actually trying to set up a "store" of sorts and I've noticed the oh-so-new interfaces, as well as new procedures, expectations, etc. Truthfully, I didn't even know I was a bon-a-fides "member" of the eBay Community until this morning when I clicked on en email notification about the new "Order Cancellations" procedure.
So, verbose though I may be, Thank you all !!! for your info!
I'll be checking in more often now.
Cheers!

My page fully loads in 3 seconds or less. Do you have a similar issue on other eBay pages or web sites? If so, you may need to clean out your cookies and cache in your browser. That maybe what is slowing down the loading of the page(s).

Other then search, ebay has in the last few months updated/changed/improved/cleaned up just about everything ...
So what do you think the new based on wingdings font AI generated updated and improved with a new much cleaner look logo will be?
And oh yeah, only have the new one on our just for buying ID as of now.

I for one hate the new AI button that showed up on the ebay phone app (android). Its always in the way of seeing what i want to see and its completely.... and i mean completely worthless- if you click on it all you get are questions so it can generate a generic response about what to shop for!.... I mean really?- a button to tell you what to shop for. I guess they assume people come to ebay with no purpose or any idea of what to shop for ?
If the AI would ignore promoted listings and just show you all the relevant results to your search like many years ago........now that is a good button!

I see new threads popping up now as this change is rolling out to more and more sellers. Consistently everyone hates that they got rid of the summery where in one simple view we could see everything we needed to at a glance- instead it is a 22 step process entailing seemingly endless side bar filters and popups lol.

Once again, it looks like no one who really sells on ebay is involved in these decisions.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned, but in Active Llisting you cannot search for just Active Listings without including out- of- stock. I want to view as a default only Active Listing without out -of -stock showing up too. There is a search function to only view out -of -stock which is good and I use occasionally , but I really want to see what buyer can see as Active Listings.

No, it's just the active listings page and it's only since eBay launched this change. Cookies/cache have been cleared several times. No browser add ons to interfere.

I noticed that, too. I don't think I ever used the Summary page - not once. Except testing it a few times to answer questions others had about the function, but for my own selling tasks I thought the summary page was nothing but in my way. I always used the search tab.

To my knowledge that was never an option - not with the old menu or the new one.
You could by the drop down menu of showing all active listing with more than 0 in stock or 1 or greater.
