It sounds to me like you are trying to add a payment method for buying items only. You don'y need any kind of subscription to list items on eBay at all. The subscriptions are for an actual eBay store or other add on tools for selling. Those subscriptions just add some additional features and capabilities for selling. If you have a PayPal account, then you need to link your PayPal account to you eBay selling account to receive payment. Make sure you've gotten everything verified properly with PayPal in order to receive payments. Now, if you are going through the listing process and when you click "submit" you get an error stating you need to set up your Automatic payment method, then follow the prompts. One thing I've seen happen to me quite often is when using the prefill capability of some phones or browsers to enter your card number, eBays system populates an incorrect expiration date. Manually enter all of your card information if that is the case.

EBAY switched to MANAGED PAYMENTS (Sellers cannot use PayPal anymore). With MANAGED PAYMENTS money gets deposited directly into you BANK ACCOUNT. Go to HELP and search MANAGED PAYMENTS (follow steps to enroll).
You need to open BANK ACCOUNT with EXACT NAME (as shown on your EBAY profile). Also must provide SOCIAL SECURITY# and BANK ROUTING#.
Name on Bank Account, SS#, Name on EBAY Account (everything must match) or your application may be rejected or additional proof required. EBAY will let you know if application approved (after approved may be a waiting period of 1-2 weeks before it goes active).
With MANAGED PAYMENTS it takes 3-5 days (after you ship item) for money goes deposited into your BANK ACCOUNT. EBAY deducts shipping & EBAY fees (whatever is left goes into your bank account).

Do you have some kind of information suggesting brand new sellers are being enrolled into Managed Payments immediately? I was under the impression new sellers are still signing up with PayPal as the payment processor for now and will be transitioned at some point in the future.

The last emails I have from ebay are telling me I cannot add new listings with the start of the new year unless I have managed payments. My current listings would be ok but no NEW listings.
