See how pathenic eBay nowadays

There was a buyer request for a feedback, we told him as seller we leave feedback only when he satisfy with product and leave us his feedback first. Buyer said he is satisfy but he don't want to leave feedback when he request us to leave feedback first. Of coz I rejected then he leave a negative feedback

We request eBay to remove the feedback because feedbacks should be optional buyer cannot use negative feedback to threaten seller for a feedback correct?

See how eBay respond:

This is one of the rare occasions that "Here's the feedback you pestered me for" would have worked for you both.

Of course, the buyer's would get a green light and yours would get a red light.

As a perspective buyer, I'd rather have read THAT ^^^ than an 'A hole' comment. And I'd have back-clicked. Sorry.

@onesixthkit_collectibles.

I think I understand where you are coming from regarding feedback. You have been burned in the past by bad buyers who you probably did leave nice feedback for. They screwed you over in whatever way they did and it eats at you to know they received and kept a positive feedback from you. The next sellers have no idea they are bad news.

Buyers actually really really like their feedback though. Kind of like Facebook and people that collect 'friends' as if they were badges of accomplishments. The reality is they are a bunch of names in space that most people are not friends with, they just like to brag about how many 'friends' they have.

Feedback for a buyer is just that. Fake flattery in a way because we cannot leave them anything negative. It's a flawed system that they don't plan to change anytime soon. Its just a game and buyers have the edge. I leave it right away because I rarely get a return or a scammer.

There are buyers out there who take it as a personal slam to their ego if you don't give them feedback first or at all. They will write you, I know, I had one, I forgot to leave it for her. I did, she left me nothing 🙂 Do I care? No, she liked what she got and FB means zip to me here now anyway.

Your buyer probably thought you either forgot to leave them feedback or thought you dissed them somehow, you will never know. Sounds like English isn't your buyers first language, maybe they intended to leave it for you until it got ugly.

Life is too short to fight over the little things and most buyers aren't scammers.

This is how wars start. Neither person will give into the other one and they both want something from the other. Someone has to be the good person and leave feedback first!

Did I violate feedback extortion policy by telling the buyer that we leave feedback only when we receive mine?

You didn't violate any policy, but even though it's kinda weird request by me, you made the experience unpleasant for your buyer. So it's buyer's right to leave you negative for that.

Again, maybe is weird/silly request, but your reaction is also weird, this feedback worth nothing, if your buyer wants it so much why would you argue?

Yes they did violate policy and that is why Ebay would not remove the FB.  If the seller had not of communicated to the buyer in the way they did, Ebay would have removed the FB because it does violate policy.  But since Ebay deemed the communication before the FB out of line, they won't remove the FB.  Sellers are not allowed to hold FB hostage.

Also it should be noted that the comments that the OP has left on other FB is also a violation of policy.

Re: See how pathenic eBay nowadays

My opinion about feedback as a long time business owner of brick and mortar business years ago.
I thank my customers 100% that make any purchase from me at my retail store or eBay store. I don't care if the buyer doesn't leave me feedback...that's there right. When a customer is spending money with me, they get a thank you! I've been a buyer and a seller since 2012 with eBay. I've made a lot of purchases on eBay...most don't thank me as a buyer. I will receive in my packing invoice, we don't give feedback until the customer leaves feedback. Why should I thank them first??? If they're giving it to me, yes thank you is in order! The entire feedback system is complete **bleep**! Yes, the buyer will extort you for feedback. Not fair that sellers get a negative FB for a nasty buyer that will extort us over a purchase. eBay has always had the buyers back over the sellers. 30-day returns are **bleep** on used items, especially clothing, jewelry, and shoes!

Re: See how pathenic eBay nowadays

I don't know about your logic here.  I leave feedback in gratitude for someone giving me money for product in a quick and hassle-free manner.  That's really my only criteria.  I'm accumulating positive reviews at what I consider a satisfactory rate without insisting they leave me feedback first.  In any case my feedback is predicated on someone buying something from me without causing me undue stress.  They gave me their business, and that alone deserves at least a thanks.
