Aside from those of you who say you never or hardly ever block buyers... would you block a buyer who files a return request over two months after receiving the item?
This buyer complains with the "defective item" reason that they just shrunk the hoodie they bought from me long ago. So that's a SNAD right? I'm well aware that I can decline it since it has been over 30 days since they got the item. Just wondering what people thought about this... just made me think if this is block-worthy.
I never block buyers who file returns outside of the return policy or buyer protection window, but I'm beginning to think some might be block-worthy on a case by case basis.

Yes, block the buyer.
The buyer says they shrunk the hoodie so it wouldn't be covered.

absolutely.... but even if you block a buyer, there is no safe-guard in place that prevents them from simply making a new user id and purchase from you again.... as for the return request, clothing does not shrink by itself.... if it shrunk that means they must have washed it and not followed instructions for washing and or drying it. besides this request being made outside of the time-frame for requesting a return, washing the item means it now is altered, therefore it cannot be returned anymore.

I block any buyer that does a return request.
They probably don't want to deal with me again.
I do not want to deal with them.
Just had one. Damaged by carrier. I am 99.9% certain that it was indeed the fault of the carrier, but had they just contacted me I would have sent out a replacement.
Request was 4 days after delivery. There is a .1 % chance that they stomped on the box, and wrapped their item up to take photos.
Do they have to contact me 1st? No they do not, but as a result of their naivety I get a seller defect, and they have no replacement. Immediate BBL induction.

Interesting. Let me ask you this, had your buyer contacted you first rather than file a SNAD I know you would've replaced it, but would you still block them? I think if I were in that situation, I wouldn't block that buyer if it was the carrier's fault. If I was able to determine it was the buyer who damaged it, then I would replace it and obviously block them (that's happened a few times).

Yea I actually never considered to block buyers who simply shrink the clothing regardless of the time window they filed the return. It happens so few times that I never gave it much thought. But in actuality, a buyer shrinking an item is really no different than a buyer damaging an item after they received it because of lack of knowledge (whether it be not following assembly/installation/washing instructions). Interesting.

No, I would not have blocked them. Carrier issue. My problem.
They were blocked when they caused harm to my account because of their inexperience.

Just because the buyer is past 30 days does not mean they did not have a issue. Perhaps they bought the item and it took them several weeks to wear the item a few times. Then around the 3 to 4 week period they washed the item and found the items had shrunk. Your feedback is full of buyers complaining and trying to warn others about the quality of the material used. Perhaps the better thing to do is look for a source for clothing items made from better quality materials. you should use your returns and feedback to determine where aspects of the items you sell could be improved, rather than focus on the negative and always assume the buyer is trying to rip you off. After all from their experience they probably feel the same way.

The complaints I get are actually a negligibly small amount of the whole, from ones that I believe are the 0.1% of the whole. They will complain nonetheless. Can't please 100%.
I think you're missing the point of my OP. These buyers aren't trying to rip me off, they are just financially problematic. TBH, I've had buyers who returned multiple times consecutively for remorse saying they just didn't like the color shade of the item... I blocked them too because they were not financially beneficial. Just because I block a buyer, doesn't mean they ripped me off or they are a bad person.
It's business. Much like how other popular online sites and B&Ms blacklist people from their return policy from overuse.

BLOCK!
The item is no longer returnable> worn, washed, used> NOT new as described. Plus over 30 days you have no obligation to accept this return. I would get eBay CS involved due to any potencial of leaving negative feedback.

Absolutely.

Some sellers have admitted even when they are at fault, to blocking the buyer
Do you really need to ask, why are buyers leaving ?

I block everyone that costs me more time than their monetary value.
02-12-2020 02:02 PM
Block em.
If I shrink a shirt that's on me, Not the seller.
02-12-2020 02:26 PM
without a doubt BLOCK!
