Because of your Secure Checkout I lost a sale !!! I could not get pictures of title uploaded to that site. Myself or the buyer could not get any help from ebay. He said I might be a scam and backed out of the sale. The sale price was $13,300, Thanks alot ebay.

So you don't want a "secure" checkout?

It may be a blessing in disguise. That's a lot of money to change hands at a flea market. That's a lot of money for an inexperienced seller to be scammed out of.

Couldn't the buyer look at the title when they come to check out the car before paying?

Are you sure the problem was the Checkout process? Because according to eBay, your car is showing as sold at 5:55pm on 4-21-25. Did the buyer submit the deposit?

Sounds more to me like the buyer might have been a scammer. Consider yourself lucky. You shouldn't be accepting anything other than CASH IN PERSON for that transaction.

Wonder how easy it is to upload a photo of title and make a duplicate of it...
I mean, we can copy money bills on a copy machine.
Sounds like it was not a legit buyer.

For some unknown reason, can't see what you're selling or have sold (but would be interested to know), but I CAN tell you this: Even many eBay sellers with many years of experience would never list such a high-value item on eBay.
"your Secure Checkout" ? You aren't addressing eBay when you post here. Responders here are eBay buyers and sellers who volunteer their time here to help others when they can. Secure checkout was NOT our idea.

Why is that? The OP was not able to do it. Sounds like the system security worked.

I see this is an old post, but anyway here’s some info.
Secure Checkout for Motors is a separate payment process and title registration process for cars. It's a brilliant solution set up by Motors for handling payments and dealing with title transfer. Here's a link with an overview https://www.drivecaramel.com/ebay-vehicle-checkout
What isn't clear from the info on the site is whether sellers are now required to use Secure Checkout or if it's optional. Also what is not clear is the timing that is required for the seller to send a pic of the title to the Secure Checkout. Is it during the listing process or is it after someone has won a listing?
One thing that Secure Check does that is awesome is they verify the title for the buyer prior to payment. After the buyer's payment is received by Secure Checkout, the seller mails his title to Secure Checkout and registers the car for the buyer and gets them a new title in the buyer's name.
It would be great for the OP to give us more detail about using Secure Checkout.
