Welcome to the Scrounge Lounge - Spring 2020 Edition

Our History: The Scrounge Lounge formed on the old Auction Listings board 17 years ago in 2003.
We appreciate ebay allowing us to transfer to the new Selling Board.
Who are we? Ebay buyers and sellers who love the thrill of the hunt and the thrill of the $ELL.
We find treasures in the usual, and at times, unusual places.
Here in the Lounge we share our finds, talk about sales, share our successes and our mistakes, we ask and answer questions, help identify widgets, and we'd love to hear about all your scrounging adventures!

Loved Survivor. I wanted Wendel to go, but after Yul started strategizing and angling to get the fire tokens I knew he did himself in. Love, love, love Rob, LOL. Wonder if he told Amber he found the coins LOL (I'm sure he did or will). I was a little surprised that Sandra left immediately. She's not good at physical challenges but those tokens will probably factor into returning to the game.

I had a few sales this week. Either the "cloak" was lifted or peeps are getting bored while stuck at home and started shopping. Took some pics, I'll try to get a few more things up before March freebies expire.

Sun, a thread 'out there' indicated that the 50,000 were for stores. Hope you got to use some.

Went to Kroger today.  Shelves are stocked a bit better, but still no 1% milk that we use & no TP.

  This is really goofy....

Some people must have rooms packed full of packages of tp...!

I was reading a thread on here this morning about a persons daughter getting upset because the store was out of baby wipes... ?

 I guess people don't use wash cloths to clean their babies any longer... ?  Only time I used the wipes when our kids were babies is if we went somewhere...

I went out yesterday afternoon to start cleaning in the landscape.  Our perennials are popping up like crazy.

  We need to get mulch this year, but have to wait for better weather ie: more sun & a little warmer.

My sales are dead in the water...  Not sure if I'm going to list this week or not.  Mr. said I should take a break, but I have a lot of b-days coming up & need the $.... Decisions, decisions.... !

  I just keep getting this feeling that they're going to close the po's ...  But maybe not... So many places are closing here right now with all this going on..

Why not try fixed price with best offer? Up the starting bid to leave room to accept offers. I used to do auctions only. But when I shop I prefer BIN. Now, I only do auctions if I have no idea what something is worth or if I get a freebie offer that is for auction style only.

I haven't been to the store in a week. But my mother said (yesterday) many shelves remain bare. She belongs to BJ's and earlier in the week they had TP, wipes and other HTF items. Limit one per customer. That helps. More people get a shot at getting what they want/need.

Re: the PO. My "insider" said there are no plans to close up shop. Just the opposite. Guess they need to add to the mantra, "Nor snow, nor rain or deadly virus..." If I hear otherwise I'll let you know.

Today was the first day of mask and gloves for our Postmistress.

We went to the PO today.  DH said everyone had on gloves and masks.  They had also marked the floor at 6' intervals to keep folks apart.

It was a lovely day - 84 degrees, sunny, light breeze - but the tree pollen was visible flying around - sniff, sniff.

Decided to attack one section of one of the bookcases and have taken  some pictures.  Never had a lot of success with books but will give these ago or donate.  We have sooooo many books 😞

Kyal, your tree is lovely.  Everything is blooming here.  The apple trees are particularly lovely this year and the azaleas are in all their glory.  Our neighbors tulips are happily blooming.  Spring makes me happy 🙂

Spring makes me sneeze!
But it certainly is pretty.
And I've noticed the song birds are especially loud and lovely... probably because the neighborhood is so quiet.

Well it is snowing again. Lots about 8 inches so far. Lots of wind too. Wow we only had like 2 inches before we went to bed. Wet and sticking to everything. I think spring has sprung. I heard thunder during the night and it rained for quite a while last night. Exciting times.

Worked on a listing a little while ago to start tomorrow.

  Kind of hard tor me to take pics with it being so dark out w/all the rain we're getting.  Always something I guess...

I'm jealous of your temps Par...  We're in the 40's today, dark & raining again.  Sadly supposed to be like this for at least the next 5 - 6 days....

Gee, enough with the snow Sun!!!  Your sure  getting more than your share of it these  last few weeks.

  At least ours is rain..  I def. don't want to have to go out & shovel again..

Congrats on any sales for you all.  I've had 2 in over 3 months, almost 4. lol can't blame that on Corona. 

Thanks, Kay for suggesting the FP/BO for me...I find it MUCH less irritating than 7 day do nothing auctions.

Only a couple sales since but $250 for both, helps, very slow though.  My fault. I haven't listed too many new things lately and even they sit, so I'm not gonna scramble. It's just not my style

M*M, IDK for sure, but it seems that addling new listings keeps me visible in search (?)
