I got screwed out of 1000$ on selling my laptop, then 2.5 weeks later of waiting I get paid out but all due to a label that was to been canceled is the one the were monitoring the whole **bleep** time. Then they were like oh if you go here and change the tracking number the system will correct itself. I wanted to reach through phone and struggle then. All during this the buyer conned me out of my laptop and I got paid 850$ plus got stuck paying for both shipping labels and what the hell a 150$ fee just for posting the sell. This place is a **bleep** joke. There Is help ain't worth a **bleep**. There is a 800 number for customer service and I will get my money back or my lawyers will be contacting them.

Newbies shouldn't be allowed to sell anything until they've read the Seller Terms Of Service and can pass a basic 'rules & costs' questionnaire. That would eliminate a lot of the "why did they do this" or "they stole $XXX from me" complaints.
I'd really hate to see what happens to these folks when/if they try selling on Amazon.... those rules & fees are brutal!

Ebay did try that once, as I remember.......vaguely.........I think clicking on the listing page keyed up a set of 10-15 questions, which one had to answer/read corrections before getting to the page. May have just been a test......didn't last long.

Every transaction on eBay carries the risk of fraud.
There is no way to completely protect yourself from a buyer who wants to defraud you.
Period.
You acknowledged this in the eBay user agreement, whether you realized it or not.
Your lawyer will explain this to you.

Let me take stab at this one.
$1,000.00 Cost of Lap Top Paid By Buyer
$80.00 Sales Tax Paid By Buyer To Ebay
$24.47 Shipping Paid By Buyer
$1,104.47 Total Paid By Buyer
$1,104.47 x .136 = $150.21 Final Value Fees For Ebay
$1,104.47
$80.00 Minus Ebay Sent To Buyers State
$150.21 Minus Paid To Ebay For Final Value Fees
$24.47 Minus Paid to Ebay for Shipping Label
$849.79 Paid By Ebay To You
How did the buyer scam you? You were paid what you were supposed. What am I missing? Did the buyer file a INAD case you didn't agree with?

We know that but somehow ebay allows it.
