Scam?

I have been selling a certain vintage kitchen item for many years and in every case they were bought for the buyers own use. I charge premium rates so it makes no sense for someone to buy them for resale. I have just been approached to sell my whole stock. Due to the size and weight of each item they will have to be shipped individually at great expense. Whilst salivating at such a great deal I am suspicious but at this early stage I do not want to ask the potential buyers any questions. I have caught scammers before asking for items to be sent to a freight forwarding address but this person has given me his home zip code. Can anybody think how or why this might be a scam? With so many parcels he will not be able to claim non delivery or damage to every one.

Scam?

@stuffbyiris

Good morning Iris

Are they asking you to ship outside of the Ebay platform?  If so it may very well be a scam attempt.  Tell them to pay you via Ebays payment method and see what happens.  If you are still uncomfortable with the situation you can always ignore the request and block them.

Good luck what ever you decide.

Scam?

Someone wants to buy out your entire stock of scales I presume?

As long as he agrees to pay for each item separately and you ship them separately.

I would maybe suggest he buy 1 or 2 or 3, see how the sale goes, then let him buy more.

That way you can be comfortable selling to him and he can be comfortable buying from you.

Scam?

You are in the UK.......I presume the buyer is there also?   Quite a bit of $$ involved for those scales.......  If he's asking for a cut in price, I wouldn't have any qualms about asking questions......

Can anybody think how or why this might be a scam?

Any buyer can steal any item from any seller at any time by filing a fraudulent dispute. So ANY transaction on eBay might be a scam.

With so many parcels he will not be able to claim non delivery or damage to every one.

But he could claim "Not as described".
