Slow sales the last week or so. Should be a great time of year for us, but not seeing it this year. Understandable with the economy hurting. Have a great day and hang in there, they're bound to pick up soon.

Thank you for the encouragement...

You may just have to change strategies. When the economy is unstable and inflation rises, buyer incentive flips from impulse & trends to price & value. This means that it's essential to know your bottom line.
Whatever you do, don't fall victim to eBay's marketing propaganda that you need to raise your PL rates. Adjust your pricing instead.

Same here. Uncharacteristically slow for our business which starts booming in October for the holiday season. Oh well. This too shall pass.
May your sales pick up and exceed your expectations!

Basically I have 'repeat buyers' making sales for me within the time period.
I have been listing new items 'not promoted' and that tends to slow down my sales for some reason...I guess because I am not promoting them anymore.
Not a lot of exposure without promoting for me.
And will probably turn off all promoted items end of month...that should be interesting as a lot of sellers will be doing the same with the new promoted thing hitting in January.

Between this, and rising shipping prices, it's important to give buyers as much value as possible. Sending offers, combining shipping and offering premade bundles are an easy way to do this.
I would rather offer a buyer 10% off instead of paying 10% extra to promote the listing. Pass the savings onto the customer.

Absolutely. Pass it on to the buyer, not eBay!

Agree…many people have been crushed by the shutdown and have no money to spend. I personally think this will be a very slow holiday season.

I am not bragging but this Sept Oct and Nov have exceeded past performance for my items.
My items are things people buy for themselves, and normally they stop buying during the time they are buying gifts for others.
Either the economy is not as bad as some think, or it is bad for some and not for others, or the explanation is something else is causing different buyer behavior.
Most of the people who are complaining about their sales, are selling things I would never buy or sell. When they report their sales are great, I scratch my head and wonder why. Seems to be the case now, also.

Collectors will always purchase what they love. I once lived on ramen for two weeks to afford a book.

Unfortunately, they do not when they cannot come up with the money to buy with.
Certain types of collectors, like railroad collectors, provide me with a warning when the economy is going into the toilet.
I have heard of rich collectors of railroadiana, but never actually done business with one. Those I have sold to over more than 3 decades have been people who buy for their collection using the excess funds in their pockets.
I've collected things for much longer, and it is only recently that I have been able to buy some highly desirable items, and only because the others who found them desirable have predeceased me.

Depends on how much they want to sacrifice, which I understand isn't always worth it. Book collecting is called a 'gentle madness' so maybe it's just us.

Best summer ever. Fall is down almost 70% across all four sellers for our museum. Hard to sell without views.

I have to laugh, my brother is a ‘famous’ train guy, my sister has collected antiques to a hoarding problem, and I never collected anything, ever, and ‘made fun’ until 8 years ago, when I fell hard into collecting… rocks!
How is EBay on Black Friday/ Cyber Monday weekend?
Hope we are all up late packing orders- Cheers-
