Hi,
I have been selling for 22 years+. Lately, I have 0 sales and have not had any questions or sales for approx. 2 months. This has been the worst year ever. Has anybody else experienced a situation like this? I am in a quandary as to what has happened to EBay? Any thoughts? Please advise.
Thank you
Frenchlady

I see you have received many helpful replies.
I only looked at 1 listing of yours -
I have a fondness for old fun fancy silverware ...
So I looked at Vintage Carr Craft Sterling Silver Sugar Tongs 3 1/2" Long VGC -
Yours is on sale for $40.95 with $7 shipping.
When I looked at yours, there is the exact same item showing below your listing for $29.95 and cheaper shipping.
I think if you fix the issue with your titles as pointed out by others.
Remove words like Great, Rare, Amazing from the title.
And review what other like items are listed for or sold for, you may have better luck selling.
Good luck!

You have a lot of dolls for sale. Mr. President said little girls can't have so many dolls anymore.

Not piling on..........but I checked 3 of your items and prices are much higher than competition....even tho yours are showing 30% markdown...... Nice stuff, but may be time to reevaluate your prices.......

@swanlakeballerina : I would have to agree with the above replies that your listings look fine in terms of showing details - descriptions - ect. But although I am not an expert in most any of the items you are selling I have to say that your prices seem very high. These are mostly collectibles vs. essentials so people will buy them if they like them - but if the price is high they may just enjoy the moment of looking at them on-line and then move on to something else.
I see you have some significant discounts in place now on a lot of them but I still think the prices are discouraging sales. I get the feeling that you are very attached to some of these items and you are letting that color your decision of what to ask for each. I am not faulting you for that but I think you need to do some realistic comparison work with other sales of similar items to see whether your listings are competitive. Good luck.

Nothing happened to eBay
Take responsibility for your store
A couple things that need improvement:
* Pricing Really? not many people will pay your prices for what you offer
* Photo's not going to comment but take a look and figure it out
Good Luck!

It looks like you haven't had any new listings since February.... your sales tanked a month later.
I would try some new listings and end current listings and 'sell similar' to get a new item id numbers.
And as others say... look at price of comps.

Several of your doll listings have a "?" in the title. If you don't know for sure, please don't guess.

@inhawaii wrote:What do you mean what has happened to ebay? You have 250 items listed and no salles for a month. No offense but obviously nobody is interested in buying what you are selling at the price you are asking. Nothing is wrong with ebay. I have about the same amount of listings as you. I have sales every day.
I am glad the default script 'nobody wants what you sell' has been upgraded to mention price point. That is a lot more helpful. But, there is a difference between collectibles and Stuffed animals with, um, "Erections" and cans of Spam so I don't see the relevance of your sales to OP's sudden drop in sales... outside of you consistently list new items, whereas OP has not listed anything in new in 4 months. I feel like that may be more helpful to mention.

Mine too, not only the new listings, but items related to the new listings. But when I list new items during a period of sales drop, I am sensitive to the situation. It definitely affects what I list, and it might be affecting what price point I list at.

I just want to add on to some of the great advice you have already gotten about pricing and such. It may get a bit long, please bear with me.
I looked at Unique Antique Velvet Sewing Box Filled W Hand Sewing Supplies Most Are Sterling
The title could use some work. The current advice given by eBay is that your first 5 words are the most important for SEO and to avoid filler. So maybe something like
Antique Sewing Box and Tools 8in Wood Grey Velvet and Silk Interior ca 1800
You are allowed 24 photos these days.
Try laying the main photo out in more of a square or 3:4 and crop it so that the items are in more of a close-up. On a regular computer screen, the search pic is getting smushed and hard to see everything (and it is much worse on mobile)
Instead of group pics, take individual pictures of each item, again closely cropped so that you can see all of the details.
Try breaking up that description a bit with line breaks and better item details for each item. It is hard to read a paragraph that just seems to run on.
I'm a bulleted list lister (just the facts ma'am), but if you want the more "friendly" description maybe something like this :
This unique antique sewing box is a rare find! Filled with hand sewing supplies, this box is perfect for any sewing enthusiast. It would be a great addition to any collection and is sure to be a conversation piece.
It is an original antique piece, made circa 1800's and was probably made in the United States.
The box is made of wood, covered in grey velvet on the outside and has a silk lid pincushion liner. It measures 8" Long x 2-1/2" Tall
The box is in age-appropriate condition. It has some fraying around the edges and oxidation of the brass fittings. The lid is quite a bit wobbly.
The sewing tools include:
3 [Sterling Handled?] scissors of various sizes [Size 1, Size 2, Size 3]
1 Tape Measure
1 [Sterling?] Sewing Hem Gauge / Ruler
2 [Sterling Handled?] Darning Balls [Size 1, Size2]
2 Glove Hooks / Button Hooks
2 Chalk Holders - 1 Wood and 1 Sterling Acorn Top
1 Sterling and Ebony Letter Opener [Awl? Button Hole Cutter?]
1 Antique Spool of Thread [Color?]
These sewing tool items are in varying antique condition appropriate to their age. Please see all pictures and ask any questions you may have.
Just as an aside, you can probably get some of the stain out of that embroidered handkerchief by soaking in warm water and Oxy-Clean.

The latest barometers of consumer behavior suggest people are not sure which way to turn, so they are making more judicious decisions about their saving and, in particular, spending. Personal spending rose only 0.2% last month, the government said Friday, in line with a forecast of economists polled by the Wall Street Journal. The saving rate surged to 4.9% in March from 4.3% in February, reaching the highest level in almost a year. The employment levels are projected to go down and economy's overall projection is down for the year. You may want to re-evaluate your prices to market demand, if those prices are unacceptable then just leave them on ebay or pack them away for a better day. This Too Shall Pass.

If you have 0 sales and no new listing for 4 months spend that time to revised your listing. Use Google lens to get more accurate descriptions.
For me. Number of items sold is slightly less but dollar amount is a lot less. People are buying my cheaper items than my medium price items and my expensive items still sell. I am assuming the normal buyers are saving their dollars. Those who has money to spend will spend, rest will spend less..

You can see it in one's traffic. It makes sense... new listings come up higher in search results... people may look at other items. I think it jolts the algorithim as well. Thats why I tell people to end old listings, click sell similar, tweak and then relist to get 'new' listing id. Also helps to put in a link to similar items and your store in the description. Although often never seen, you get a little boost from those who do. Also sometimes i will promote some hot items (after jacking up the price to cover the fees!) just to get an increase in traffic.
Probably should have also told OP to work on SEO keywords and loading up item specifics, especially those marked as "trending".
I used to advise running items through auctions at the price you want to get more exposure... you get a boost in visibility at listing starts and ends, but for me that has gotten way less effective since introducing promoted auction listings.
Worst thing to do is nothing.
