Hi, anybody else experiencing slower then normal sales the last week, or is it just us?

You don't know my situation and I am not going to explain it too you.

Every time I see one of these "slow sales " posts, I try to guess what the seller has listed. Usually it is one of these: clothes, pro sports collectibles, trading cards of some sort, jewelry, shoes, drop shipped junk.

Sometimes it is a combination of a couple of those, like pro sports team shirts, or drop shipped shoes.

My sales are pretty steady, I'm right on track to hit last year's numbers. Some months are down, some are way up.

That darn messaging system... I suspect it's also partly responsible for a sharp increase in the number of FB marketplace sales I've made the last week.   Almost did as well there as I usually do on eBay.

     My other selling venues have, for several years, always done better than my eBay sales. A lot of that has to do with the fact that a number of them are local venues, like FB marketplace, where there are multiple benefits for both the buyers and the sellers.

Just about every single day since I've read this board-about 20 years-someone complains about slow sales.

With eBay?  Only since the fall of 2021.  Even Marketplace is hurting now.  I did have 5 sales between Fri/Sat.  The previous 3 1/2 weeks were awful & on a 3-day no selling streak again.   I attempted an online auction site that I used a few times over a year ago.  Before - it was great.  Now?  It was terrible.  Few bidders.  Most items sold for $2-7.00.  Some went for $1 because, for some lousy reason, they would combined items that do not belong together.  I won't return to them.  3-item lot sold for $3.00!

Nope, ever since I came off a couple of weeks of Time Away (I was busy helping organize and run a reunion-- never again!!) my sales have been quite steady.

It's abysmal. 

Down around 25% in the past 30 days. 

Also noticing a trend.  Ever since the fall update I sell a lot of the same random items but thousands of listings go without any attention.

The algo apparently only likes to show items that "sell" and buries anything that doesn't get attention in a "certain amount of time".  They used to cycle listings to try and get them noticed but I'm guessing something in the fall update change the way they show listings in the search results.  It's very odd sales behavior.

You will usually see a bump after "time away".

I'm starting to blame ebay's new messaging system on bad things happening in my person life as well.
