Sales event feature isn't working for me

I set up a 15% off sale for my store last week that started overnight last night, but decided I'd like to have some of my items listed up to 50% off too.
I tried setting up another sale to run at the same time and it didn't work. I tried setting it up to start after this one ends to see if that was the problem, that didn't work. And then I tried removing the items I want in my 50% off sale to see if that could be the issue, but it's not even letting me remove items from my current sale.
When I attempt to do any of these things, the update button simply doesn't respond. I can't save my changes either to use later, it does the same thing.

Is there something causing this that I can fix? It's my first time using a sales event.

You cannot have more than 1 sale go on with any 1 listing.

You cannot alter the 'price' (unless you click the 'new- allow price increase' button).

You cannot do more than 1 sale having another start 'later' if an item is Already on sale.

If you want to 'change' your sale, you'll need to 'end' the sale in the Marketing Screen and start over, doing 1 sale at 15% and another sale (with OTHER items NOT in the first sale) at 50%.

You'll probably need to wait an hour or 2 before starting the 'new' sale as the Marketing Tab showing items will STILL show the 'OLD SALE' that you ended, for a bit.

Thank you, it sounds like in order to end it I have to wait 24 hours so I'll try that tomorrow and see if it'll let me then.
I was actually able to have another sale, my current sale, start later when I had one going last week with all the same items in them.

@toujoursladybug you do NOT have to wait any amount of time to 'end' a sale (except if it hasn't started yet).

You'll have to wait to 'start' a new because when you go to 'choose' items, they will still show the 'on sale' pricing in the Marketing tab, for a bit.

Unfortunately there's no place to end the sale. I clicked on the 3 dots next to the sale in Marketing under Discounts and there's only an edit option, no end option. On the edit page there isn't a place to end the sale either. I saw someone on a different forum when doing some digging that said you have to wait 24 hours in order to end one.

To add on, I'm also unable to add any new items to my current sale, something I was able to do with my previous sale last week.
I'm unable to make any changes at all.

I didn't realize you just started the sale that you are trying to end; yes, it says it right on the Discount Mgr tab that you have to wait until the sale has been on for 24 hrs.

I had some difficulty with sale events a few weeks ago.  Like you, I wanted certain items to be discounted at a certain rate and a few dozen others at a higher rate.  Ultimately, I just ended the listings I wanted to offer a deeper discount on, used sell similar to recreate those listings, and then selected them and and created a separate campaign with just those items at the correct discount.  It's not exactly the most streamlined approach but it worked.

Basically, if you can't get the listings to do what you want them to do,  just end, sell similar and start fresh.
