I sell single sports cards on eBay. I’ve been getting frustrated because for cards less than $20 in value, you can use the eBay standard envelope for $1.25 postage through eBay/USPS. Whenever I have a buyer win multiple auctions, they want combined shipping. So I send them an invoice, give them the shipping discount, and then proceed to buy postage through eBay. However if there’s more than one card, it will no longer allowed eBay standard envelope to be purchased. The cheapest option is USPS Ground Advantage which is $4.25 at the cheapest. As an example I sold two cards at 99¢ each with $1.25 shipping for each. He asked me for combined shipping so I knocked $1.25 off his total. eBay then forced me to buy $4.25 shipping. So this guy paid me $1.98 for the cards plus $1.25 for shipping for a total of $3.23. I had to pay $4.25 just for shipping. So I actually lost money!
Because of this, I went into my eBay and tried to disable the “combined shipping” option, which apparently it defaults to. That was the worst idea ever, because now when I just went to list some cards on the app per usual, I’m getting all these error messages about shipping and policy preferences. (See attached photos)
When I try and change those, it won’t let me. Everything is either greyed out, or I change it and then it immediately defaults. I can’t post any new auctions until this is figured out. Can anyone please help me? I’m losing my marbles over here!
