Sales down

My sales are significantly down suddenly. I am just a small seller, usually 2-10 items a day.  Now I’m down to going days without a sale.  My sales had been steady for months. I have not done anything differently. I understand the Christmas rush as I have been selling for several years but seems something must have changed that I’m not aware of. Anyone else having this issue?

My sales plummeted since they made the change.  There is some correlation there.

It doesn't help that the new administration is doing everything in its power to make it worse. Across the board everything is up.  A very bad sign is how many corporations are now moving their money into hard assets. That doesn't bode well for the US dollar.

You are right, something is wrong, I too complained about it.  Not only are sales down.... *Views* are down.  I noticed it, and called and talked to a rep, who told me that they thought there might be a glitch with my account....   NOTE:  I did notice that I did something wrong and I fixed it....  So on the Advertising Dashboard, down at the bottom, it shows a "campaign" line (mine is "default campaign"), that is all the boosted listings you have.... (On the 9th) I thought if I ended that it would reset all my listings to not be promoted.... When I did that, everything went like totally invisible or something.  I hadn't sold anything (which was unusual for me), and I had listed items and boosted them, but nothing was getting views.   You can see on the 9th of April where views were zero...  I called eBay and that's when they said that they thought there was a glitch on my account, and they were going to reset my account....   After that I remembered I had done something in that page (Advertising Dashboard), so I went back to it to fix it back the way it was... once I started it back up, and set up all my items to be boosted again.... visibility came back....   Hope this helps you somehow....   In short, don't end or remove that Default Campaign Line....

What happened is the $600 tax reporting threshold. A lot of small time sellers were actually funding thier Ebay purchases with money they made on EBay. Now that source of income is gone. They will buy on ebay even less now.

Well there might be a reprieve.  The new tax plan being proposed is that Americans making less than $75,000/year won't owe any taxes.  So the over $600 dollar 1099 might be moot for some.

Yes, our sales were very robuts but it seems sales have fallen off a cliff.  Wonder what's going on?

Something is wrong, my sales in April 2021 were low so I thought it was just a bad month, now In May 2021 Sales are worse (-69.8%) I’m not used to having bad months so my pocket is hurting! Sales dropped all of a sudden, I’m guessing it has to do with something eBay is doing, hopefully that can be fixed and we can all get back to selling!

I'm still seeing lower than normal sales, although it did pick up from the zero point on April 9th.  LOL.  So yeah... I guess we will just wait and see.  Every few days I go in and I lower things a little bit... But it's doing no good.  VIEWS are still WAY DOWN!

My sales totally suck.  I also lower prices.  I make quilts and the fabric prices are outrageous in the last year.  I barely charge what it cost to make them and they take a very long time.  I have never seen it like this before.

I beginning to think that the Watcher Numbers are fake.  I have had watchers on the same items for months and months and not very many sell that are watched.  The ones that sell (albeit a month ago, I haven't had a sale in almost  2 weeks) are the ones that are Not watched.    The view numbers only go up by 1 or 2 each day if that.  Now I know my stuff isn't a hot item, but why is there a few sales one week and none the next two weeks.  Frustrating!

A)  My sales are slow. Maybe nobody wants to buy my stuff for what i'm asking.

B)  My sales are slow. It must be ebay's fault.  I know there are plenty of people out there who want to buy my stuff  but ebay is somehow preventing them from doing so.  Of course that doesn't make sense because the less I make, the less they make. Hmmmm I still think it has to be ebay's fault.

My sales have been down and it's not due to covid. It's due to the changeover of eBay dropping PayPal for sellers. Period.

Another day without a sale!  I had 18 sales in April.   And only One sale in May so far.   Yes it is eBay.  It sure as heck isn't anything else.

Do you do sales or promote listings at all?

With so many States now rejecting/ending the federal $300 unemployment and taxes due yesterday, just think it is a timing thing.  Only so much disposable income to go around.

I don't promote listings because most are $9.99 with Free Shipping.  I'm not breaking even now!  If I Promote I will lose even more money.
