Just wondering if it is just me, or if other long-time sellers have noticed a complete drop through the floor of sales that started in the beginning of this month?

well i just made post with a link to article (one a hundreds, just google) and it was removed, but it's OK, it's no secret, everyone knows ebay is screwing it's sellers and they are leaving in droves for other better platforms, which many reside now. Ebay may have had the bulk of the market for years but today there are at minimum 13 sites that are sellers can go depending on their nitch and do better then they ever did on ebay.

try signing out of your account and look at where the sponsored links are showing on your listing page. surprise! two rows of sponsored links before you even get to your item specifics. distracted buyers wont look further and they will go to something less expensive than your item then forget to go back.
no wonder sales are down.
if they use my page for placing their adds i would like to be paid for it. i am paying for the page and their sponsored links at this point. everyone should be looking at this feature and complaining. why dont we just ship ebay the stuff and let them sell it on consignment. why do the work for others for free. i would like pay per click on all the sponsored links on my page or take them off my pages.
my other items do not even show up properly on my listing page. that and other tech issues remain a HUGE problem for sellers here..someone should be screaming about this other than me!

One way to get sales is to list things for sale.
Having no listings in the past year really hurts sales

I believe it has to do with the addition of sales tax that hit many eBay buyers on June 1 and July 1.
Thanks SCOTUS! We knew you were trying to kill off the little guy doing mail order. Looks like it's working...

That whole salehoo thing is pure bunk. Sorry but it's just a bunch of words with no content. They don't know squat. No offense to you.

I guess it's all in how one interprets up, up, and away. Many sellers are asking where sales have gone. Answer could be up, up, and away!

i dont mean to be rude but i dont see all that many sales on the account you signed in here on.
if you are doing well thats great. there are many who are not and they need answers. it also depends what you sell and if you are willing to give ebay half of what you make in sponsored links. thats what will happen. people will pay more and more for them to try to get to the top of the food chain and eventually no one will be listing on here. ok for the time being but not a long term solution for getting more of the pie. then again the shareholders dont care and this is a public company now. short term gains are what are cared about not a long term plan.

We are screaming but no one is listening!!!!!

We are just noise to them.

Sales were strongest in January, February chugged along - everything we were listing was going fast....
March 18th on? The lights basically went out...As soon as this GTC mandate hit and we could no longer run 3 day Buy It now listings? Our sales plummeted...Just as we predicted it would..
The only culprit here (or at least the worst one) is the GTC mandate...It's killing everyone big and small on this site...
The boards reflect this quite adequately at this point..
It's definitely not a mystery. What people need to do though instead of trying to solve this "big mystery" of why sales have stopped/or slowed to a crawl?
Is to recognize the 10,000 pound elephant in the room for what it is, Understand that the GTC change IS the problem here; and get on the phone with ebay and demand that this be changed back..
Every day, flood them with as many calls as you can, before we all go collectively out of business here..
The culprit isn't the position of the moon today, it isn't some sudden unreported world wide recession happening in secret, it isn't the time of year, it's GTC...Period
The longer this goes on? The more destruction it is going to cause, thats the bottom line
Very well put, and I admire your sentiments. I've made my feelings known to those I could reach, as well and trying to keep the conversation going in the Community boards. I had built a business model on the 30-day listing feature and growth was steady 'til GTC kicked in. I'm back at the drawing board now as the slump is into it's 4th straight month. July is on pace to be my worst month ever.

lol, while i understand perfectly what your saying, good luck with that. Everyone does this, not just Ebay, look on Amazon, Walmart or any other large selling site they all do this, place adds on your listings from other sellers and and products they offer. But yeah, of course people are going to look at the same product available for less and that would happen with or without those ads on your listing. No different then shopping in brick and mortar people look at the price and compare to others - it's called competition - one thing will never change, people will always look for the best deal they can get.
The problem is fees, as they go up sellers prices have to also to cover those fees + all other expenses you'll have like shipping supplies, printer ink, taxes etc...

hi,
not just you. same timing for me. they wont acknowledge. its like that sale fiasco last year.takes months to change if at all.
their stock price bleeped up so dont hold your breath. wait a year if you can! or ..figure out where else to sell. nothing to sell ? they wont make as much. ??
its like bank fees..the more money you have in the bank the smaller the fees..then the ones with most money in the bank get a fraction better deal from some other bank and move their money or renegotiate with their current bank..the rest of the poor slobs get the shaft..;(
not complaining just finally got the wake up call to do whats best for me not ebay.
takes a village..they have forgotten their roots. sad..
vote with your wallet.

I have gone 6 days now with no sales and hardly any views! This is not normal!! Even if it is summer! More and more sellers are complaining! 😞

I'm wondering if it has anything to do with big sellers vs small sellers.
My clock for instance has been listed with a $500 opening bid for a week, no reserve, and nothing. It retails at $1800.00! I paid about $900 for it. I mean come on you can't tell me a big Ebay seller would have gotten a bid on that. Its looking like a disaster even if I do get a bid.
Strangely I DID see a bid, it showed me in Alerts I had one on it when I logged in today but then when I went back to list items it had vanished completely, no trace of it at all. 30 other things and only one single bid so far, at least that one didn't vanish. WTH? This is nuts.
If I didn't have free listing "deals" from Ebay I would just close down at this point for good and try selling from my garage.
