... 6 days now, nothing, how has others been this past week? Doesn't make much sense, I had a 10% off sale running (weird, I sold things without the sale prior but trying to make room for new stock soon) and I added some listings (something I wasn't doing for awhile was adding more items). Sales have been going steady for few months til 6 days ago they just stopped for no reason. I "refreshed" my listings through bulk editor various times also. Idk if ebay is hiding listings like I've heard others say, I can get mine come up through searches this morning but I was also logged in (shouldn't make a difference(?)).

@laurabeardsley wrote:Greed, that is the real problem. All these online sites seem to be pulling the same tricks like promoted listings. It is not enough for them to get paid to list the items and paid again when they sell but they are basically saying that unless you pay them again to promote your listings they will hardly be seen. Greed seems to be taking over everywhere and it is killing everyone financially.
I agree with your Greed Theory.

Same here. This site is a disaster and it's just too bad that there is not a great alternative that available yet. I was consistently getting multiple sales daily and thanks to this idiotic GTC mandatory status for all listing, poof! No sales for up to a week at a time now.

Having read through the messages posted on this forum over night... I now have genuine concerns about the future of my business on ebay. I understand that this forum (provided and managed by ebay) is for the use of it's members (business sellers) and appreciate that it's useful to us... but it's primary function is as a tool to be used by ebay to gauge the feeling of it's members.. us... in relation to it's policies, performance etc at any given time.
So - ebay... this message is for you...
As business sellers - we are bound by your rules and your guidance to conduct our businesses in a decent and honest way. Our dealings with buyers - our customers - are policed by ebay to ensure a good buying experience.
WE ARE YOUR CUSTOMERS and you are not treating us with the respect we deserve. Constant tinkering with your systems and underhand meathods of squeezing more fees out of us are killing our businesses. Thinly veiled threats of buyers 'not being able to see our listings' when we opt not to pay extra fees to 'promote our listings' are unbecoming of you... If we work within the rules you provide you have NO RIGHT to interfere and to manipulate our business models. Our prices have been calculated to give us a living wage. We have already looked at the environment we are selling within and have priced our goods and services accordingly. Ebay is a selling platform - it is not for ebay to interfere with our businesses. It is not for ebay to constantly pressure us to discount. We are all wanting to grow our businesses - and we all want to do this within ebay. If ebay continues to treat us with this complete lack of respect then we will leave you. We are your income.
Someone at ebay will be scanning these posts - you should consider taking this one (and the contributions from other sellers) to a higher office... and you should be taking the stairs two at a time... In the posts written before this one - I have not read a single one which is 'just a whinge' rather posts from sellers with genuine concerns about the health of their businesses. We are not big concerns - but we are your bread and butter. Treat us with the respect we deserve.

Yep. Just horrible. Sure I've made somewhat steady sales lately because I've been listing as many quality items as I can find and fortunately sourcing has been good to me the last couple weeks And, usually they are the lower dollar items that are selling which barely allows me to pay the bills. I'm yo-yoing between paypal and my credit card constantly. Ebay just auto drafted $153 in fees I didn't even have in my account so now I'm in the red. I have nearly 30 items listed which is about triple what I've had the few months prior and yet nothing is flying off of the shelves. I have very seriously refined what I purchase starting this year because more and more ebay sales history is not accurate. Items that show consistent sales month after month in far from saturated categories, will not sell when listed no matter what you do including lower price, free shipping, etc. It's absurd. I can barely trust the sold listings any more and view them with a grain of salt. I've also noticed a huge surge in best offer buy it now sold listings. I'm seeing less and less strictly BIN listings unless the items are particularly rare. I've listed several items recently that I have had listed a few weeks and since then the same models have sold from other sellers in worse condition with less pictures and quality of presentation. It's mind boggling. I think it's all due to a manipulation of search, buyers ability to view items, sellers being allowed to sell at certain times, etc. I'm tired of this place. My problem is I have Aspergers and I'm far from a social person. Ebay is the one place I thought I could make however much I wanted which was only limited by how hard I was willing to work and interact very infrequently with people on a non-face to face level, both things that were not the case in the real working world. I am realizing with each passing day I may need to re-enter that world and that makes me very anxious.

This is not bragging but just so some people don't think I'm a newbie just here to complain and seek sympathy I have been doing this going on 3 years relatively full time (flexible hours). I grossed 27k my first, and 36k my second year and yes I paid my taxes on that. So I know how to sell items, present them properly, etc and the sort of items I'm selling now are exactly the sort of items I've sold since day one.

if you go to search and search an item you have listed it all depends on how you type it in what will come up. For instance if I type in a vinyl I have listed I get VERY DIFFERENT results by just changing a word or two, so I'll search via band name only and see what comes up, then I'll search band and album title and get completely different listings that show, then I'll do the same but add the word "LP" or "Vinyl" and get different results again for both, though a lot of the listings I seen on other searches will be there also but the results defiantly change.

Same here, The seem to have been slowing down for sometime now, but in the last month really really slow, and in the last week practically stopped, I have on over 1000 items in the store, it doesn't really make sense .. I don't think they're being seen anymore. Last year at this time, I would average 15 packages a day, now I sometimes get 1 or 2 a day until the last few days .. none
