Spent 6 hours today on the 400-mile yard sale. About what I expected - a few keepers, a few listers and a few to take to a local auction house.

We had to start late because my better half (who is just a tad older than me) had to go to the local Social Security office to get enrolled for her age 62 benefits. For some reason she seemed to be walking just a little slower than me today while we were out scrounging.

Too funny about the crow and hamburger bun. Maybe a fast food dumpster nearby?
LOL at the water routine. They are funny too. I had 4 of them that used to show up here when I would throw some crumbs out for them, then they started coming back every day and they would all sit on a branch closest to my back door and squawk.

Yes, the cardinals are so beautiful. I usually get only one pair here every year. I don't see them often but I hear them.

I wonder what the evil was attributed to in her day, wonder if it was a new fear or old fear.
Old fear meaning were cards a spinoff of tarot or the other way around. I think tarot came first. I have read that no one really knows which came first though.

That's a great story, Patd!
My parents were bridge players too. Bridge night was once a week and we kids knew that was time to disappear or be very quiet and not interrupt the game.
We played a lot of kids card games too. My dad taught me how to play cribbage when I was about 16, age had nothing to do with that but merely that I showed some interest.
