Hello everyone! Looking for some insight and advice here. The highest bidder for one of my auctions is
location China
feedback number 3,788
Member since August 25, 2022
A member for 638 days at a time of writing this
buyer has received approximate 178 feedback every month, for month after month which averages out to just under six every day for the past 638 days. ( all feedback is as a buyer it looks like… Not a seller) (seems higher than typical)
The buyer dragged their feet and took some time to make payment, I messaged them, eventually they paid.
Shipping address is a third-party shipper I believe called myUS
shipping address
4291 Express Ln
Ste 9482-191
Sarasota, FL 34249-2602
United States
there are some problems/frustrations with this address and/or buyers that use this address as seen on other discussions
winning bid price $165
The item is a used estate vintage DUNHILL tobacco pipe
this particular item is not as susceptible to scam for fraud as compared to other items such as designer jewelry and accessories or electronics or bitcoin etc. etc.
I see different options here… The buyer paid, it is a US address, I ship the item.
OR
cancel order because
I know that the option could be that I shipped the item the US PS tracking takes time to upload due to previous history of this address lagging uploaded tracking, the buyer opens up an item not received case, I risk negative feedback, and a possible forced refund, and mess and headache however I could ask Ebay to put the case on hold if they open one to allow USPS tracking to upload…
could be legit… Or I could be like other scenarios on other discussions where buyers trying to set up a item not received case, negative feedback, and in the end ultimately received the item and receives the refund resulting in them receiving a free item and me risking being out that money and possible negative feedback
if there’s any other info that’s helpful I’m happy to help, share, elaborate
thoughts?
thanks!
(PS, the second highest bidder for the item that is in the US just bought another one of my items and they said they would be interested in buying the item this is before the winning bidder paid)

They pay. I ship.
It looks like the buyer is using a Freight Forwarder. In my mind, there is zero risk difference between a buyer using a Freight Forwarder address or a standard US address.
All you need to do is worry about getting your package to the USA address provided. Once it's scanned as Delivered there, ZERO worries about if/when the buyer actually gets it to their country.

That is a freight forwarder. I do see how a old used tobacco pipe would be a scam item. A phone? Yes. Not a pipe. I would ship the item and move on. Congrats on your great sale!
Happy Selling

I don't think much about it, if the buyer pays, I ship.
I've shipped to many freight forwarders and haven't had any problems.
The last one I shipped to, it was headed for China and no problems.

I send a lot of items to China via a freight forwarder, mostly costume jewelry (some expensive) and never had a problem. There ARE countries that have a history of theft and packages missing due to dishonest postal workers, but China does not seem to be one of them.

You have the right to question the sale / buyer.
You did your homework:
location China

Has this buyer left any feedback for sellers?
Do you use eBay international shipping service? That service claims the seller is protected. Dealing with a F.F. along with eBay's AI bots, can create a headache for sellers who are potentially being scammed.

Curious as to how this went. Did you send it? Did you have any trouble? I have an $250 order going to this location & am nervous about it.
thanks!

PLEASE READ, I've been selling on Ebay for a long time. I too would normally agree with what is being said in the comments BUT The statement above in the RED ebay box is a LIE. It has never happened to me BUT it has to my brother. He sold a $400 Drone it was shipped to an address like this, which is considered a reshipper. What ebay fails to say is this....If the believe the address is a reshipper the seller pays an additional fee for the buyer who has a profile outside of the US but ships to an address in the US. So not only do we pay a fee we are NOT protected. My brother shipped the drone, he received his money and 35 days later when the package that left the reshipper and landed in whatever country they sent it to, the buyer called his credit card company stopped payment on his card and said the item shipped was not what he bought on ebay. He never went to Ebay about the said issue she stopped payment and ebay charged my brother. When I spoke to ebay they stated we are only protected if the buyer goes to ebay with the issue but since he went to his credit card company nothing could be done & my brother had to pay ebay the $400 back....oh yes and also ebay does not require them to send back my brothers item so he is now out $800. Be very careful where you ship and what you are actually covered for. I give Ebay a lot of money each year and even I kno they do not care about me as a seller.

I would think once your package reaches the Florida address your job is done. It is the responsibility of the third party to get it to the purchaser.
