Return fun!

About a week ago I sold a pair of Justin Boots Size 8.5D (using another Seller ID) and this morning I received a return request for “too small, can’t get my feet into them”.  No problem, I accept returns.  But upon researching the Buyer (something I do to establish who I’m dealing with) I noticed he is currently selling a pair of Justin Boots in 9D and his description reads”they fit perfectly I just don’t need them anymore”

So I’m now left shaking my head and short the $10.00 I spent shipping the Boots to him!  Thank goodness he did a “standard” return and not an INAD or I’d be out the return shipping as well!

Now, as a Top Rated Seller I need to decide whether to issue a partial refund to cover Sanitization which I perform on any Boots returned to me.  I probably won’t but why in the world is he buying 8.5D Boots when clearly he wears a size 9D?  And before you comment, yes the Buyer confirmed he purchased them for himself.

Mind officially blown!

My personal experience with Justin boots is they do not always fit the size they are sold at. And in my case modification with a baseball bat is required because the arch is too high.

FWIW a chat with a local seller of Justin boots agreed this is not uncommon, and he recommended the baseball bat fix.

Wishful thinking?

Return fun!

Or the buyer has a secret magical formula where he can make boots grow a size?

or he bought two pairs, returned the small ones, wore the other ones once (party?) and then put up for sale.

If your mind is "officially blown" by that, ummm...have you been in retail very long?

I'm not sure I agree with your concern @discounts4days .  The one they are selling is a different size that the boots you sold them.  Are you suggesting they should not be able to sell things that you sell or that they should buy from you for items they similarly sell.

You may not be aware, there there are a great deal of sellers that shop on Ebay to buy inventory for what they sell.  This is not a new thing.  It has been happening since the beginning.

I don't think you need to be at all concerned by the buyer selling a different size boot than you sold them.

1.  Why sanitize if he could not get his feet into them?

2.  The American system of education has failed millions.
