Return fraud, sellers beware - Return to different address within same zip code.

By the tracking number, the postmaster in the local usps office can verify that the return package was delivered to a different address from the default return address. The USPS return shipping label was dispatched by ebay, I don't know how they change the default return address,  I found out until the return case was closed by ebay according to the tracking shows delivered. I am sure there is a glitch and Ebay can fix it easily, but I don't why Ebay is not fixing it.

I have reported it to Ebay, and  I am waiting for Ebay's decision.

Yes, we told USPS our Ring doorbell camera shows nothing but Elvis, the neighbor cat enjoying our patio furniture that day (we looked from Noon until 9pm initially - nothing and USPS carrier says mailed delivered at 2:20 pm approx)

It is both a mystery and a pickle.  Not uber expensive but about $78 to us, so stings some.

USPS delivery carrier told his supervisor he is confident it was delivered to our address.  We have proof otherwise.  Which, btw, means squat diddle.  

We did as you suggested as asked USPS for the delivery detail in their system.  Per USPS, the shipping label is bar coded to our address, our zip.  Letter carrier has to have mis-delivered.  Buyer gets their return either way.

postmaster can see the actual weight, it is a 8 oz package instead of a 8 lb package. postmaster will no give out the actual address  on the package.

we physically visit the post office, postmaster wrote us his name and phone number to verify that we can see the actual address are different and weight are way small. buy ebay close the case in favor of buyer and rejected our  appeal.

It is a fraud. Buyer modified the shipping label, it is an only empty envelope. you need go to local post office, the postmaster can see in the internal system the actual address and weight. Usually ebay  take postmaster's verification like the other seller won several times. But in our two cases, ebay reject our appealling, closed the case and doesn't allow to appeal again.

...USPS newest scanner also a GPS recorder which can show how the carrier delivered from the truck to your house door...

...btw, I share my thought over your lost...even losing $1 is still a loss, and yours is $78 which can be a nice steak dinner at The Steak House in Circus Circus, Las Vegas...

Why don't the buyer just send back an empty parcel?

Local postmaster confirms that it is a near empty package, delivered to a different address which usps can't expose, but ebay appeal teams don't read and buy this arguement, because what they read is that the tracking shows it is delivered to our return address, that is why it is a mail fraud, the buyer modify the actual address.

we got suggestion to go to local police station get a police report or go to uspis.gov/report to file a report.

yes it is a near empty package or empty package, this kind of mail fraud is not difficult to kill, but they don't care.
