Our account was just suspended because we will not deliver to certain areas we specified in the description portion of our listings. These are areas in which we've experienced high INR, Returns ( Original Item Broken or Replaced) or AirBnb Renters Scamming at a Temp Address.
We tried going through the eBay system but could not find a way to deny service to certain Zip Codes, States or Regions.
Our description is extremely explicit and leaves no doubt about or restrictions so how is this any different then not selling to overseas countries?

There are apps that allow you to do what you want to do. You can Google something like "apps to restrict sales to certain zip codes," as one example, to see what I mean.
However, those apps do you no good on eBay, which does not allow you to restrict sales in that manner. So, you must start your own sales website or find one that allows you to do this.
I must say that I'm amazed to hear that model trains are a high-scam category.

This is what I can suggest...You could try to reach out on social media via FB.
https://www.facebook.com/ebayForBusiness/
These are US CS agents who actually work for Ebay and may better serve you and your situation then ones that ebay provides. Many positive posts here on this forum with their ability to be helpful. See if they can give you some insight.
Good luck.

You can only restrict countries and certain states from buying but you can’t pick and chose zip codes.
There are many cities with high crime rates are you trying to restrict them all? You may as well try to build your own website to exclude certain zip codes or sell your wares locally.

I disagree with this suggestion. Why waste the time of the helpful agents when they can be spending their time helping ebay members with real problems that need special attention.

Curious, except for Hawaii and Alaska, are there 'other states' that can be restricted from?

Sure, but I'm talking about the demographic, about the sort of people who are into model trains. I'm just surprised you have such a big scam problem with them.

Your description says nothing about anything except 'see manufacturers website since item is new'
Was the 'other verbiage removed by you or eBay?

Thanks; I was just checking as I wasn't sure if they 'added' some more options.

I just went to check out your Completed listings. Instead i see that there are 40+ items still listed on this ID. Was there another account that was suspended? Was this a permanent restriction, or temporary?
So looking at these current listings, i see a link to an off-site web address in the description field. Contact info (in most cases), or outside links in a listing can get you suspended permanently with no chance for appeal or reinstatement.

Technically not states but you can restrict US territories such as Guam, Puerto Rico, etc.

Amazonbay is desperate for sales and since it's basically a none American company if not country they have no idea what you're talking about because where they come from, no one has rights. About the only tool you can use is in the customization section where you can restrict buyers who have too many unpaid transactions, feedback below 0 but that outdated system is deeply flawed. You can't even mention a serial offender on these boards to help others. I can't even remember the amount but the guy was restricted but still able to bid on auctions since immediate payment was not required. Avoid auctions, they are a backdoor to allow wild animals in. We should just be able to refuse a sale without negative feedback if we deem it risky. Even the shipping companies have rules when dealing with problematic areas and can't even deliver if no one is home with an ID. There are some addresses customers enter which are not legitimate. They're some hole in the wall of another hole in some shady section of NYC. Since this site will no longer police bad actors save for against those who speak the truth, they should allow us to police our own listings. It's not like they're going to get a plethora of phonecalls. They don't even have a phone to answer anymore. Not only can areas be bad but also shippers. While not exactly related, Amazon drivers in particular run fencing operations. The USPS is basically hiring criminals and illegal aliens in some areas. It's all a mess and since we are in the decline of civilization we sellers should be allowed to at least not contribute to such.

Certain areas? You are excluding entire states including California, New York, Vermont, Michigan, Oregon, Illinois, Washington…
You might be better off listing the states you will ship to.
