Respond to offer maker

I have an offer for a doll I’m selling. I want to accept it but in handling the doll an arm came off (in the listing I’d said it was loose but now it is off). Honestly the arm was headed toward falling off. I think most buyers if this type doll understand this. Price was a bargain.  So I don’t think offer maker will want to back out. But I want to be honest.

How do I contact the offer maker to explain this to see if they still want the doll? Can’t find any contact email. eBay “assistant “ worthless. Hoping real people can help!

Respond to offer maker

This is a duplicate thread to this one:

I would report this one to the Mods (click on the arrow in right hand corner) and ask that it be removed.......

If i am not mistaken, i thought you were able to click on the users (one making offer) to pull up there profile where you can message them. You should include the item number on the listing to explain what happened. I would also let them know you are cancelling the listing to relist with the current condition. (do this regardless if you can get a hold of the user making the offer) Your listing needs to be updated and just because you describe it in the offer message, you are opening up yourself for a INAD. Not saying messaging the buyer (offer) will not end up working out as a good sale but it is already easy enough for buyers to create a INAD so why make it easier. JMO

There might be an easier way to do this that i am not aware of and i am sure others will respond as well.

I would end the listing first of all. If you really think someone will buy a broken item then relist with BROKEN AS-IS in the title.

THANKS all!  I ended the listing and relisted the doll.  It seemed safest in the end from what you said. I figured out how to write the person who made the offer, too.  I think some of my issue was I was using the app on my phone and there were things that didn't show up until I was on the desktop!

Actually I deleted the older listing and relisted it with the update on the arms falling off. I got another offer from someone else and I’ll be mailing it tomorrow. I did contact the original offer maker and explained.
